It would make a bit more sense with a show with religious themes and mythology in it, like Supernatural for instance. Preschooler shows like MLP are not meant to be partisan.

I didn't expect him to be an Evangelist, but he's pretty dumb so he might not really realize what he's doing. He probably thinks it's like sharing a band or movie because he doesn't understand that religion is a highly personal thing that isn't to be taken lightly. To be fair I don't think proper Evangelists do either, but the difference is they know people refuse and know how to get nasty the moment that occurs. Neo here probably assumes the ponies are already Christian and they just haven't figured it out without his assistance. The idea that they could refuse doesn't even occur to him, which is worth saying seeing as how he wants to go to pony land and make all his stories real.

Who knows. He created his goth/punk/metalhead persona but then his own character (himself) starts singing christian songs... and Rod Stewart songs lol
I don't think he takes his edgy side seriously. Not in a ironic way, I mean more like he doesn't know shit about gothic, punk or heavy metal music. Why would he sing a love song by Rod Stewart instead of one by Type O Negative or Lacrimosa?
I bet his parents listen to Rod Steward, hence the influence.
For consistency. His character looks like Gene Simmons with Pinhead makeup and Leatherface's hair, dresses in black, has a "tough guy" attitude, serial killers as friends... and then he switches to love songs, christian preaching and stuff. Even when his own castle has a pentagram-shaped platform, it doesn't count as satanic imaginery? His autism is too advanced.
