I don't think anyone should have kids after age 35 because of personal experience being the kid of older parents.
It sucked seeing other parents doing things with their kids that my parents were too tired and/or apathetic to bother with. Having to explain that yes, those were my parents and not my grandma and grandpa was unpleasant too.
We don't need to go into dealing with the health problems of the elderly and what it does to their kids.

Don't have kids if you're old. Just admire your friends' pictures of their grandkids and call it a day.
FOMO and mild social inconvenience for the kid shouldn't stop people from engaging in one of the greatest purposes their lives.

News was saying the protections on mountian islands are so strong they would possibly let an interfering human die before they would shoot the lion

Its safe, knocked out, wrapped up in a poncho in the back of a ford ranger.
Anyone who would let a person be killed by a mountain lion should meet the same fate.

Our relationship with large carnivores should be one of respect, but distance. We spent a million years becoming the top of the food chain, and only then did we start bettering the world around us.

Its the reason I have disdain for shitholes like India where people are routinely killed by predators. Really, you put a rocket on the fucking moon before you figure our how to sequester big animals away from populations? Europe did it by accident. Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

No, not in my country. If an animal presents a danger to a human in their own home, it needs to be eliminated dispassionately. I don't have to demonize it as a monster to know its nature is a threat.

I really really really love that these clowns continue to pontificate and lie for like 30 to 40 mins AT A TIME

WHO ON EARTH DO THEY THINK IS WATCHING THIS?

Ill tell you exactly how many, I searched for senate live, sometimes CSPAN will show it to, but only this fox channel is showing the broadcast.

Within that broadcast there are only 2.7 thousand weirdos like me actively making fun of them.

Id wager less than 1,000 left leaning people will EVER hear these comments or see these expensive taxpayer funded PowerPoint slides that needed to be printed out for some reason.

They arent being disseminated into tik toks, they arent being pumped artificially by bloggers and small creators, hell even their media apparatus is far to high strung to care about senator stump speeches.

its like a dream watching the dems try to resort to bush era politics while their base just sits around waiting for someone else to fix the problem, its better than I could have written it.

But keep going Mr, Murphy, one more poster will change 70% of Americas mind, you are almost there.
Ngl he makes a convincing case

The thirty hours after "cloture" is a sort of middle ground from the old way to what we do now. Here's the reasoning why

No one cares what is said, or who says it, it's just a common ground they came too.

Trump - Truth - 20250219 Zelensky.png
Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and “TRUMP,” will never be able to settle. The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation. On top of this, Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is “MISSING.” He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden “like a fiddle.” A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do. Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the “gravy train” going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues…..

Ive been thinking about the DoD thing on my drive home and I can't believe it but I can feel some hope in my heart again. I'm mostly a moderate, I lean right or left depending on what my heart tells me (call that whatever: the holy spirit, the conscience, whatever) but this is not a partisan issue. Defunding the DoD is acknowledging and attacking the *class* divide, which is something that affects all of us no matter our background. If Trump and Elon continue proving my pessimism wrong and actually listen to their hearts and not their wallets in the long run, this might be it.

Older Gen Z like myself might actually have a future in America to look forward to.

Hi, I would love $5000 but this is a bad idea. We should be aiming to reduce the national debt so that we can, in the long term, sustain our country without a mountain of interest staring us in the face, while also lowering individual taxes.

Blowing billions on a “we’re sorry” isn’t the way to do it. Put it into infrastructure, the economy, etc. and let the $5000 end up in my pocket over the long term.
I respect the sentiment, but I have to disagree with this. There have already been gargantuan budget cuts under Trump as it is that sending these checks won't be as devastating as the democrats want to fearmonger about. The American people have been cheated BIG TIME. If Trump were to just say "aw shucks, you dumb fucks got cheated out of trillions of your hard earned dollars and you get NOTHING in return for it, I guess your gonna have to get back to work to make more money, retard. Better hope no one steals that money as well you dumb fucks!! USA USA USA!!!" that would be a gigantic blow to US morale if you ask me. Getting $5000 doesn't make up for all the money we've had stolen from us by our own government but it is a nice gesture to alleviate the blow while helping us all get on track to move forward and regain trust with our government. It's the fucking least the administration could do as a "sorry that you were lied to (and are still being lied to) about what has happened to your money, here's this check as a token of our desire to regain your trust." Your argument that we will all have $5000 in our pockets in time if we don't get the checks works the same way in that the government will make the money back in no time thanks to the massive cuts in spending Trump has implemented.

I was fine with Putin doing what needed to be done in Russia and I always thought the American foreign policy of treating Russia and Putin as the devil was always retarded and we should have made diplomatic ties with him decades ago, but I'm not going to defend the invasion of Ukraine.
I also don't believe using the same words as Russian propaganda and favoring Russia in the concessions is good for our country, our allies, and only emboldens our enemies. The war needs to end, but not in such a way it makes all of eastern Europe not trust us.

As I stated previously in this thread, the idea of Russia being our "FOREVER ENEMY" (when China is the obvious and real threat) was fucking retarded. These boomers still think we're in the middle of the cold war, and sadly, that kind of brainrot is infectious, 'cause I see a lot of the younger generation parroting this shit too. It's fuckin' sad. Eurofags want us to get involved with forever wars, and have us foot the bill while they don't lift a finger to help, or pay for it. Nah. We're fuckin' done. Trump cutting them off from a negotiation from a war THEY started should've been the kick in the nuts they so desperately needed.

We're not Europe's Sugar Daddy.

I'm in the camp of "Get our jobs and futures in order and make the country worth living in again" first over taking another round of money. Even as a modest earning guy myself 5K is shorter term.

Give us roads that aren't filled with bullshit holes and dead man's blind curves and audit the fuckers who were meant to fix that for the last 30 years, stop talking about it and start moving towards nuclear power. Also use that budget to heavily audit power and water companies and the rates they charge people since no one's utility bills went down at all over 10 years with LED bulbs, low flow toilets and energy star HVACs that coke out when they're actually needed.

Save people more across a decade than a single lump sum would give.

I'm fine if it's a one time thing, is only a portion of the DOGE savings, and the rest from here on out goes to paying down the debt.
Partially, that's for selfish reasons because it'd get me out of the hole I've been in for a year and a half after an unexpected medical expense paired with higher cost of living making it harder to pay off, plus some extra to put towards moving to a bigger place to make room for new family members.
Even if not though, lower gas and grocery prices would get me to the same place eventually anyway so whatever.
