Russia fully captures the Kurakhove urban hromada
30 km west of
Donetsk

Following the capture of
Kurakhove (Kurakhovo),
Russian troops advanced westwards to
Dachne (Dachnoye), where they have already enclosed it and
Ulakly in a massive pincer manuever. They would soon seize the settlement on 6 February (video above).
With the capture of
Dachne,
Russian troops started pressuring the flanks of the cauldron against the
Ukrainian garrisons in
Kostyantynopil' (Konstantinopol' / Constantinople),
Ulakly, and the
Ukrainian trench network east of
Ulakly. In the northern flank of the cauldron,
Russian troops seized more of
Andriivka (Andreevka / Andreyevka).
On 16 February, a
large Russian mechanized column stormed
Ulakly, provoking panic among the
Ukrainian garrisons in the
trenches and
Ulakly, forcing a mass retreat (or rout).
Ukrainian troops ditched the northern half of
Andriivka, the
trench network east of
Ulakly,
Ulakly, and parts of
Kostyantynopil' (where they are attempting to force the
Russians back).
Russian troops soon captured the
trench network, entered southern
Kostyantynopil', and are clearing
Ulakly and
Andriivka on 18 February.
Ukrainian troops unable to retreat surrendered themselves to
Russian troops. With the fall of the
trench network,
Russia fully seizes the
Kurakhove pocket, and thus the entire area of the
Kurakhove urban hromada, or the city's metropolitan and administrative area. It has a pre-war population of 38,776 (2020).
Russia seizes advantage of low Ukrainian manpower in Kharkiv Oblast
120 km east of
Kharkiv (
Kharkov)
Over the past week,
Russian forces exploited the lack of
Ukrainian manpower in
Kharkiv Oblast (Kharkov Oblast) by increasing the buffer around captured settlements such as
Dvorichna (Dvurechnaya).
Ukraine increases counterattacks for stronger negotiating power

Over the past week,
Ukraine started mass reinforcing their positions in
Pokrovsk (
Donetsk Oblast) and the
Kursk pocket (
Kursk Oblast). With the
United States starting negotiations with
Russia to end the war (or to prepare
America's exit from the war),
Ukraine launched many counter-attacks from their positions, primarily from
Pokrovsk, in a desperate attempt to give
Ukraine a bigger bargaining chip. One of these successful counterattacks by
Ukraine were towards
Kotlyne (Kotlino) and
Pishchane (Peschanoye).
Regarding the latter settlement,
Russian troops managed to push
Ukraine back from
Pishchane on 15 February (see below) Footage is of a
Russian fiber-optic drone hiting an AFU pickup truck going to the village of Pishchane.
