Government jobs went to shit the second it was made illegal to do IQ Tests/Test in general. Before a Government job was actually a high status thing cause in the 50s they would usually get bright up and comers, figure out they weren't idiots and then have them do something useful.

Don't take the buyout, let them fire you. It will be better to get fired at different times than to all be looking for a job in 8 months.

Which made me wonder. Do these people really expect to sit on their ass for 8 months and only look for a job when the money stops flowing?
When I lost my job years ago I felt like I had a constant pit in my stomach until I was signed on to my next employer and these people would be fine not having a job and not knowing what their next job would be for eight months?

Every day I think I finally hate feds enough and I learn something else about their personality and mindset that really just pisses me off.

Given that the lot of them likely had do nothing jobs or were doing stuff an actual hard working employee could do three or four times in the same period as them, yes. If I was given the option of getting a good severance pay, I'd be looking for something with a similar salary right off the bat so I'd basically have twice the pay.
