Military Equipment Sperging Thread - The Tiger II is a better tank than the M1 Abrams edition

I wouldn't be surprised if they buy the Krasnopol guidance package that Russia currently uses and upsize it for that shell. It seems like a logical technical transfer that Moscow would accept purely to spite the States.
They could do better than Krasnopol- stick a GLONASS guidance package in there with a BACKUP laser guidance system, along with a inertial system. Its a 170mm shell, its certainly big enough to handle it.

In any case, CV90:

Love this fucker. 8/6 troops. 40mm Bofors, or if your a export nation, a 35 or 30 mm Bushmaster. Top speed is 70kph or 43mph. It also can equip fucking auto loading 120mm mortars. LMAO.

That thing looks tiny, I think if you stack troops like cordwood you can fit a section(8 troops) in that. I would not want to spend a 10-12 hour day in that thing. However, it does look like a good vehicle for laying down fire in an urban area. Especially one that is rubble strewn.

It's bigger than a Bradley I'll say that much just looking at it lol. As for firepower, yeah it's a monster. 40mm go pom pom until everything is dead

It's 2.9 metres (about 10 feet) tall. I assume that includes the turret so subtract a couple feet for that. Then you have the clearance for the treads, that looks 10ish inches. So it might not be as bad I think. It still looks like a tight squeeze, and I would not want to spend a day in the desert cramped in there with my section.

Apparently it is about the size of a Bradley and that things looks tiny. Or at least the crew compartment does. It also doesn't help that armoured crewmen all push 6 feet for some ungodly reason.

Aka the shittiest CV90 ever made.

That 40mm gun carries less than 200 rounds, has zero programmable rounds, and loads from FUCKING CLIPS. 5-7 shots then "whoops gotta feed the gun"

The only reason the swedes used it is because they wanted something heavier than a 20mm and all they had available was the 40mm.

The 30mm and 35mm bushmasters just didn't exist.

The CV90 family goes through Marks, so MK1 = the original swedish model. Mk2 was the 30mm model, Mk3 were the 35mm models and Mk4 is the latest one in either 30mm or 35mm with a much better sensor package and more powerful engine. The Czechs and the Slovaks have both selected it in 30mm. The Mk2 and Mk3 models are getting upgraded to roughly Mk4 standard.

The 30mm model carries 400 rounds and the 35mm one carries 210 rounds.

Both 30mm and 35mm support programmable ammo and are fed from two magazines so dual feed is a cinch

The hull floor is usually a bit under the top of the treads. The CV90 carries 7-8 in the back and is supposedly a little bit roomier than the Bradley.

As for autocanon, please enjoy the NG autocanon section of their website

Note they've made a proximity fused round small enough to o get fired from a 30mm chaingun. The M230 is the same as the one on the Apache and fires a round with a shorter cartridge case than the Bushmaster 2 30mmx173 in alot of IFVs.

But it's 40mm. All you need is HE and APFSDS. That and it does have programmable ammo:
3P airburst. And it's 8 round clips, 48 rounds stowed in the turret. Not bad for 40mm of pain. Just keep feeding the fucker until the target dies.

It's still stupid and no one besides S. Korea uses that 40mm. S. Korea only did because of "Muh SUPER SCARY N. Korean BMP-3" that turned out to have aluminum foil armor, like most Russian IFVs.

48 stowed rounds is trash, especially if you're shooting at incoming FPVs / bomber drones or spraying HE into a tree line when you get ambushed driving down a road. Or dumping shells into a T-90M or two, or multiple targets. Either the commander stops commanding or the gunner stops shooting to reload. Ridiculous, just like the RARDEN.

Even the 40mm CTA gun France and Britain co developed uses a novel telescoping case and a feed system to get up to ~200-210 rpm and uses zero clips.

The Brits abandoned it and now only France and Belgium use it on the Scorpion.

Sometimes bigger number isn't better, especially when it nukes your carried / available ammo.

See the 140mm and 152mm prototype guns for tanks. They'd both be at under 20 shells carried in an autoloader. Even the Rhinemettal 130mm gun is 20 or maybe 22 in autoloader.

Bro it's the Bofors L70. Over 3000 FPS for a HE shell. That'll paste a drone with a 3P airburst. They actually made dedicated air defense variants , the lkkv 90 recently for drone duty

40mm is big iron and has more powder behind it than the CTA pussy cannon. This is what peak looks like.

Ah. Super Entendard has always been weird in my head

Strike aircraft primarily. Max speed is 749mph. Carries 4600 pounds of stores. So not that fast and honestly doesn't carry much. But yeah, they can launch NATO weapons, French definitely. Honestly though given the choice this thing would be my last pick in terms of aircraft for a Air Force
The Entendard (aka "the super frentendo") is special to me only because it was one of the two planes I learned to fly the T2C buckeye in profile for to help train USAF T38 guys on controlled intercepts while teaching the NFO in the backseat how to give course adjustments and help handle radios

You climb to 28 to 33k, get up to 430kts, descend down to 1k over water and see if they can pick you up before you cross over the Gulf shore.

We "died"every time

The Entendard is such a ugly duckling it's not funny. The specs alone are something more befitting a aircraft from the 50s. I bet the Buckeye was more suited for combat if you kitted it out lol.

That guy is from 1997.... 30 were made.

The L70 is just not suited for IFV work. Clip loading is ridiculous post Bushmaster chainguns.

They have them though.

Bro if you want to switch ammo, load another clip of different ammo. I promise 40mm of hell will paste your target.
So will 30mm and 35mm and those have far deeper magazines and no clips.

Again, there's a reason only two countries use the L70 on an IFV....
