For literally anyone else, yeah, making fun of someone for childhood molestation would be cruel and beyond the pale. But Destiny is a special case, because he doesn’t believe in trauma, at least, not for himself. According to his own lore, his molestation didn’t affect him at all. In fact, he outright rejects the idea that it had any impact on his psyche. So why should we treat it as if it did? If anything, laughing at his molestation is validating his worldview. We’re just respecting his self-proclaimed emotional detachment.
This is a guy who genuinely believes he’s above human suffering. He smugly tells people that trauma doesn’t affect him, dismisses others’ pain, and acts like he’s a hyper-rational logic god, a Nietzschean übermensch who transcended childhood rape into peak debate form. He wants to claim the privileges of emotional detachment while simultaneously shielding himself from ridicule whenever it suits him. Fuck that.
If someone is gonna spend years mocking other people for their emotional reactions, minimizing their trauma, and treating human connection like a calculated numbers game, then why the fuck should anyone else extend basic human decency to them? He wants to play the amoral machine-man, so why not treat him like one? If he doesn’t think his molestation affected him, then why would it be “cruel” to mock it? Either it doesn’t matter to him (in which case, there’s no harm), or he’s full of shit (in which case, enjoy the seethe). Either way, L + ratio + molested.
