@Sammich you're also forgetting about the SNL fiasco with Pete Davidson, that was actually really important because it was like the first time most people learned about Dan or Pete and honestly, Pete was in the right, it was a great segment and Dan used conservative media to go all cancel culture on Pete and i'd say its a huge reason Pete has had such an amazing career the last decade, before then he was just a stupid white kid with barely any screentime on SNL after that he exploded.

it was a lot easier to take pride in what you do back when even your lowest level job at full time afforded you the ability to live in an apartment and drive a car and have enough money left over to buy a case of beer and two packs of smokes daily.

Just because its executed well doesn't mean its not "woke" same way we all know its absurd that every criminal on Law and Order and CSI were all white, it might be executed well, but there's a reason they aren't trying to make it closer to reality. So what is the line between DEI and just having diversity for story and variety?
when you feel it impacts the quality of the writing, based on what tv writers said about a decade ago, you really only need to raise a flag if media is made in the last dozen years or so, because thats when hollywood realized outrage culture can paper over bad writing, which also means its usually a good sign that if something is overly "woke" its shitty writing. the head writer of the amy schumer show called it out too, if a writer came up with a shitty idea for a sketch they'd include some woke nonsense in order to punch it up because they couldn't come up with a better punchline. the head writer would then have to scrape off the woke and try and punch it up, but that guy also got canceled for being a serial rapist, which is probably why most of the woke bullshit doesn't get taken out at an early stage.
