Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

I absolutely hate how the playerbase would rather do a bug MO than any other MO, we currently have 40k on the bot front and before that we had like 100k on the bug front back on erata prime, and before that we had like 50k doing the squid MO, i hate this playerbase sometimes

The problem with the bugs is they are extremely fun to drop orbital napalm on.

I think the new content released with the latest MO had more to do with that than the usual bug-brain behavior. When the bots get an MO with new content everybody will flock to fight them. The bots are a lot more fun to fight these days and when people realize that they might stick around on the bot front.

I don't blame people that have been scorned playing bots in past versions of the game. They were extremely oppressive to fight until recently. The devs have done a great job improving the readability of their attacks and the general feeling of fairness while fighting them.

I get what you're saying about coordinating on the MOs, but bugs really are a lot more fun to fight for a lot of people. Speaking for myself part of it is the constant pressure - bots can be dodged, drop ships can be easily managed, even their heavies have always had glaring weaknesses and anyone familiar with basic shooter mechanics can do well against them.
Bugs on high levels are a constant threat, and with the bile titan spawn holes it can get tough quick. There's a satisfying display of goo and viscera and nice crunchy sounds of shattering exoskeletons with their deaths. The predator strain just ramped up all the fun by teasing higher difficulty bugs.

Squids are a nice balance of the two since you have projectile weapons from overseers and harvesters while still contending with hordes of voteless, but the bug front remains popular because it is exciting.

I think the bots got built up as being much harder at first but when I started playing against them I thought they were more manageable than bugs. When they did their "balance changes" they did become a lot more of a pain in the ass and I think like you said people are still stuck in thinking it's like the past changes they made. But the new balancing really made the bots even more fun than before and I think easier than the bugs, I can do a deathless bot run on helldive easier than I can for the bugs just because the bots operate on more predictable mechanics.

Lol, AH's spaghetti code just broke this week's MO. Liberty itself decided that we're saving both planets.
I want to believe that they just didn't anticipate that bot divers aren't retarded, noticed there was a choke point, and decided "We're going to get the gas mines AND save the enfeebled children." Then they went on to liberate the entire sector.

I am so happy that we lost a planet to bots and got the planet that created dark fluid destroyed because of the playerbase, why do people say the squids arent fun and then immediately play against a faction that will 2 shot you while slowing you down, i dont understand

He thinks the story is driven by the player base and not preplanned by the devs aaevc12a30mc1.webp

Of course I'm going to save a hard working blue-collar planet, rather than those scientist who got us into this mess in the first place.
