Malcolm in the Middle - Why nobody is speaking about it?

They have been talking about a revival, the kid who played Dewey won't be coming back for it because he's done with Hollywood, good for him.

Cats ate her face
I know at the series finale, they have another kid on the way. How would they write out Dewey for the revival? Does he go to college as well? Did he disassociate himself from the dysfunction over time? Or will they just recast him?

I can never think of Funkytown without picturing Heisenberg dancing to it in that hockey episode. (Also cartels but that's another story)

I never watched too often when it was on, but it certainly was popular enough to have seen a good portion of episodes over its run. Looking back, I probably would've appreciated it more as an adult since I was a teen when it was on and a lot of the humor didn't hit like it would today.
I will say that one line has stuck with me pretty much since I heard it in the episode "Reese Joins the Army: Part 2." It is a great Hal plot about being on trial, and he starts off his testimony by saying this line in response to his work performance...

"Marginal....at best."

The delivery is so dead on, I just started saying it to describe anything that was shitty. That alone makes the show a winner to me.

I think I remember that episode. His company was embezzling money or something and used Hal as a fall guy. Hal had to prove that he never worked those days the company was doing shady shit. What does being a "marginal employee" mean? Bonus points for Lois being pissed off at the realization.

that two part episode was probably the peak of the show tbh lois going from being crazy enough to go to the middle east to rescue reese to making the little piggies was hilarious

There hasn't been a lot revealed about the casting or story or anything yet so it's up in the air. I'd prefer if he was in Europe or something touring playing the piano

I know IFC would show episodes of Malcolm in the Middle in its syndication.

One thing I did not like with the show is the bits of music that would play during scenes. At least there wasn't a laugh track.

I loved the genius with the character arcs in the family. Malcolm was the smart one, but the other family members had their own gifted qualities. Dewey was a music prodigy, Reese was a culinary master, Francis was a bonafide planner/leader (I think), Hal was charismatic around people compared to Lois' stern, strict personality.

Do you think the family would have a chance without being menaces if they were raised differently?

I've never been able to watch this show.

Every time I try it I get 3 episodes in and get driven off by the fact the Mother is a Harpy, The Dad is borderline Retarded, The Youngest feels destined for Grossout Humor and Malcom feels like he is on the Path of Lisa Simpson were he starts out as a decent "smart sane person among insane people" but will eventually descend into being "Oh So Holier than the rest of the cast"

It’s shown multiple time that, as soon as Lois and Hal start focusing more on the boys their behavior is immediately corrected. A lot of the boy’s disfunction comes from the fact that their parents spend more time in the bedroom then actually parenting, and the little time devoted to parenting results in a brute force style.

I'm still fucking pissed copyright issues have kept Malcolm in the Middle from getting a full physical media release, like imagine all the behind-the-scenes footage and commentary we have missed out on because it was just never allowed to be given out to the fans.

Meanwhile I like to pretend Max Keeble's Big Move and Malcolm in the Middle takes place in the same general area since Justin Berfield like rarely changed his look during the 2000s, so it was just real distracting watching the movie and thinking it hilarious Reece was writing for the school newspaper.

God damn I forgot how funny this show was. The theme for it was great too.

There was some show made after it called "The Middle" which I naively thought would be a successor to it. It wasn't.
