Decided to pick up the rxm, ending up trading everything else in(CZ kept having feeding issues and the smith developed a bad habit of having a dead trigger sometimes) and I really love it. Plan on building my collection back up eventually but poor so gotta make sacrifices

alright so ya boi recently got a sporterized spanish mauser (model 1916) the seller did list it as a model 93 however its missing the length and it has the curved bolt handle, but I digress some forums claim you can shoot 7.62 nato, and some claim you can .308 (tho I think thats a stretch) I know mauser actions are known for being durable but can it shoot 7.62 no problem?

if it is in 7.62x51 you should be able to fire standard .308 win target ammo through it as they are pretty much loaded the same these days, but i would not shoot any hot .308 hunting loads through it. not necessarily because it will blow up but it will accelerate wear on the rifle. these Spanish mausers are known to have heavy recoil and the stock will suffer for it.

Kinda sounds like what the Japanese Self Defense Force had going on when they were still issued their 7.62x51mm rifles. Their ammunition had a lighter load than NATO standard and IIRC their rifles wouldn't hold up to the heavier standard 7.62x51mm ammunition.

1916 Mausers haven't had much confirmation on the conversion process, but FR-7 and 8 Mausers use the CETME-C barrel as opposed to the CETME-A barrel, so they're fine. The only exploded Spanish Mausers I've seen posted were from reloads or the infamous Pakistani cannon-powder "surplus" that flash welded the case into the chamber and blew the bolt halfway out of the receiver.

The French ran 7.62 NATO through the CETME-A with no catastrophic effects either, so I think it's a rather moot point.

Some of you may be familiar with the Surefire OBC, which features a longer stroke length due to it's proprietary gas key design. Many of you may however be unaware that surefire once had a version of the OBC called the AROC (Advanced Rifle Operating Core) that incorporated a proprietary bolt with lugs that were 30% longer than milspec. When KAC has the patent on rounded lugs and LMT has the patent on stress relieved lugs I guess you go long.

In this 2009 New Yorker article all about the AA-12 and militarized robots there is the following sentence

The Baber mentioned is Jerry Baber, who bought the design of the original Atchisson automatic shotgun design and reenginered it into what we now know today as the AA-12. My question is, do you or anyone else have any idea what could he have done to that rifle, My assumption was that he played with the buffer and slapped a huge muzzle brake on. But there's a small possibility he incorporated some of the tech in the AA-12.

Cool stuff, I've been looking into that myself. From what I've read it should be compatible with Gen 3 parts, please report if you choose to install trigger group upgrades like a custom connector and run into issues.

Are those the actual rounds or for display purposes only? The rifle must have a really sturdy chamber if it can eat 14.5mm pressures from plastic casings.

Muhreens have been playing with using plastic case .50 BMG in M2's and True Velocity shows pretty consistent success with Poly case rounds So I don't think it would be a stretch to assume they work. Also, I neglected in the past to thank you for Identifying that Indonesian pistol.

Probably won't(dont like modifying trigger shit in carry guns) but did put some rounds through it and it has better trigger and recoil impulse than a standard g19

I recommend the grid organizer from magpul for the pelican case. I found it better to have a modular case, and I've never been too happy with my foam cutting attempts.

Bought the V800 (Double Gun) as it seemed like it had the most overall space; knew I wanted to have as much as much as possible in one box. Will give it a shot and see how it goes.

fixed firing pin with small FP spring, removing the hammer with a keeper pin, a lever release on the trigger that extends to interact with the front of the lower surface of the carrier (basically an open bolt conversion), and adding a reciprocating mass that travels with the buffer via a cup or something that acts as a hammer. combined with a stiffer action spring and shaving down the locking lugs with a ramped version, you now have to overcome forward inertia on top of additional resistance rearward to balance out the recoil. old fashioned artillery pieces had something like this for lightweight field guns, allowing what is essentially a controlled out of battery firing cycle.

this was a "dead-line" field modification since the 80's for the FP weapon in bradleys when they break the roll pin that kept the sheet metal toggle thing in place so the disconnector functioned. very low recoil but wears out the action pretty quickly and is unreasonably prone to malfunction as it can "out run" the magazine.

ditch mags, they barely work on a SAW, use the nutsacks and get a vickers sling for it. tactical tailor makes great sacks for belts that are easier to work with than the plastic boxes. you'll also want a carbon scraper and some kind of pick or other tool for links that get stuck under the feed.
