Ah yes, same thing happened to Westworld. It's like the good writers were only going to be given one season and knew it, so they emptied everything good they had into it then shot Anthony Hopkins' character (and the show along with it) between the eyes on their way out.

At least when this happened with Battlestar Galactica, they had the decency to admit this after the fact.
Thank God the worst thing Stargate ever did to me was hire Claudia Black. And then she got captured and tortured and one time they burned her alive.

Claudia was OK (I was a Farscape fan) but not Ben Browder (I didn't like it that much).
*Shrug*
It's possible I just like weird chicks in leather.

Stargate's only real crime was it's spin offs (and every alien planet being within 3 hours of Southern California). It even manages to be decent after they jettisoned Jack.

... I only really remember her from Farscape, which was interesting, if a little strange, for like a season and then went off the rails in a real hurry.

Back in the 90s every sci-fi and children's live action show was just a thin veneer of plot over the directors barely disguised fetish.

It was literally followed up with Lex which was pure late night gooner comedy slop.... "No maah! I wasn't watching the weird guy and his robot sex doll again!.... I was watching the BDSM lady with the pregnant space ship and I fell asleep!"

If English is the official language of the the US, does that mean the end of taking up half the fucking screen with faggy sign language for speeches, when they literally could have just put the fucking subtitles on?
Still one of the funniest vids I've seen:

I am sorry, but this is so fucking cringe.
The live sign-language completely distracts from the speech.
How can you focus, while some middle-aged goblin is doing cartweels, farting with their ellbow and assorted motion I would categorize as an epileptic seizure?

What's wrong with subtitles? Do they think that deaf people can't read? Abelist scum.

They still are, but at least they used be normal, heterosexual fetishes.
Now Doctor Who is a gay nigger and I yearn for the sweet innocence of Wilma Dearing in silver spandex.
And don't get me started on @Overly Serious's avatar.

About time! Sad we even needed to formalize this. An important move in a era full of "multiculturalism" and elites trying to subvert society and erase our culture and spirit. I can't be the only person noticing random TV ads in spanish the last few months or so? And the gaslighting by media with all kinds of poorly thought out excuses. This is or was, one of the next "things" to be pushed. At least i get the feeling.

The best/worst part about this is that it was always de facto the case from the earliest days. I mean the founders, despite having many interactions with other countries (esp the french) and the early country having people of many languages, chose to offer all the founding and core national documents (like the DoI and constitution) solely in English. That wasn't an oversight, it was a choice. The fact that they didn't enshrine it in law formally, was because it was self evident... well until the modern era and it's lack of common sense and critical thinking. (but mostly willingly ignored by certain ideologies)

Everything becomes a missile platform, it's like everything becoming a crab. It's just how evolution works.
I wonder how long it’ll be before we have FPV-drone-deployed ai-man-recognising antipersonnel micro-missile racks
make enough of the shits and the cost per missile could be quite small, relatively

So the argument is that live subtitles tend to have a lot of mistakes that an ASL interpreter doesn't make and that deaf people comprehend sign language at a speed similar to hearing, where as reading subtitles, even if they were flawlessly written, wouldn't give the same understanding. I don't know how true the latter is, though I have seen mistakes in live subtitles.

But it is massively distracting to have someone standing there gesturing so effusively that it undoubtedly reduces comprehension for everyone else, ie the vast majority of people. You just can't pay proper attention to what is being said with someone doing a mad dance to the side. It just, and I'm sorry deaf people, looks really fucking stupid and feels like it's making a mockery of what's been spoken about. I'm sure it would be possible at this point to have a sign language interpreter in another room, signing along and the viewer could have the option to select that as a pop-up on their screen.

OK, seriously: can anyone here give me an unbiased, agenda-free quick rundown on the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump? My entire social media is on fire from angry shitlibs crying about muh Ukraine, I'm seeing Redditards seething as usual, mainstream news sites are giving me the predictable orange man bad shtick, and Youtube is recommending me right wing grifter channels bragging about how Ukraine has been buckbroken by Trump. I don't know who to trust, and these threads are going fast. What honestly is happening?

I'll to keep this as objective as possible

So context on the run up to the meeting:
Trump proposes a mineral rights deal with Zelensky. Zelensky tells the US he is all for the agreement in theory, but has to get it passed by Parliament, US says ok, meeting ends. Zelensky then goes on Ukrainian News and says he refuses to sign the deal.
(There is a whole lot of uncomfirmed bullshit around this, but that's proven facts)
This gets Trump bigly mad, he mean-tweets about Zelensky, hurling typical Trump insults. French President & British PM both meet with Trump to calm him down, Boris Johnson (and other EU/UK officials) goes to meet with Zelensky to do the same. Zelensky is brought to the understanding that unlike an EU leader, he definitely needs Trump more than Trump needs him. Zelensky agrees negotiate on the mineral deal, and a vastly scaled back version is set to be signed.

The meeting:
So with tensions running high, someone decides to do a Press conference/signing/lunch/dinner, a whole event around the deal likely to try to show the world a united front "See, we are all friend". In the middle of this, VP Vance decides to start asking very pointed questions of Zelensky. Vance was very clearly trying to provoke Zelensky, and Zelensky is getting less and less calm. In response to Vance saying he'd been to Ukraine and Zelensky takes guests on a propaganda tour when they come, Zelensky mutters "fucking bitch" in Russian under his breath.

Shortly after this Zelensky takes the bait, specifically on a question about Ukraine's issues with staffing its military and if Zelensky believes its respectful to (verbally) attack the US Government at this meeting. Zelensky as part of his responses says "First of all, during the war, everybody has problems, even you, you have nice ocean and don't feel now, but you will feel it in the future."
This sets off Trump who had just been sitting mostly quietly to this point, and tells him "Don't tell us what we're going to feel. We're trying to solve a problem. Don't tell us what we're going to feel." Zelensky attempts to explain his statement, but Trump doesn't let him.

Zelensky leaves the whitehouse by himself, gets in motorcade and leaves.

What is happeneing:
Vance doesn't like the fact the US is sending Ukraine lots of weapons and providing cash and loans. He baits Zelensky into making a dumb, poorly worded statement. Trump, who is already pissed at him, calls him out. Trump doesn't think Zelensky is willing to try to make a peace deal, kicks him out of the Whitehouse. We are now waiting to see the responses.
