USA does not produce all the necessary foodstuffs to feed its population without significant cuts to their quality of life. You produce immense amounts of certain agricultural products, but not all of them are suitable for human consumption. Sudden tariffs do not leave enough time for the US agricultural sector to adapt and answer the consumer demand.

Edit: To be clear, you are self sufficient in terms of food production by numbers, but there's only so much corn, soy and sugar beets which you can pump into people's veins before things go wrong.
wrong nigger

I don't really understand how people think the math works for tariffs. How is everyone on both sides of every deal magically losing money? Where is it going?
Tariffs tend to lead to lower consumption and lower consumption of course means less money pumped into the economy. I'm no expert of course and I'm sure someone here knows more than I

This should have been in the Constitution. A common language to unify a people is just common sense.
Why? We don't need to constitutionalize every policy position. It's not like where the language was so intrinsically tied to the national identity where it needed to be in the constitution as it was in let's say Ireland.
i) the intimate visual depiction was obtained or created under circumstances in which the person knew or reasonably should have known the identifiable individual had a reasonable expectation of privacy;
That's the thing though, if someone sends nudes to let's say their boyfriend they're a retard if they think it will stay private. Now I don't know how well that argument would hold up in court, that no reasonable person could have an expectation of privacy to anything posted on the internet, but to be honest I'm hoping a court would rule that way. God willing, Kavanaugh is a farmer and ACB hangs out in Beauty Parlor posting terfy shit.
I'd rather they replace Andrew Jackson. Putting him on any Fed note is a massive disrespect to the man.
Nah, that's too funny to replace in my opinion.

The Pope has suffered some kind breathing crisis and is back on ventilation.
Not again, God help him.
I'm torn between feeling bad for someone and knowing taking satisfaction at imminent demise is probably wrong, and the impression I have from what people have said that he's an inauthentic catholic and is better off replaced.
He's not an inauthentic Catholic. What makes you say that?
But don't you know Jesus went to Egypt as a baby? That means we need to let the ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD IN!
His Holiness never advocated for that. All he advocated for was treating migrants humanely and even then he said they are to assimilate.

Didn't I make the same point? You are self sufficient by raw numbers, but much of that production is meant for livestock, not humans. You cannot keep a healthy and happy population on corn, soy and beets alone, especially if half of it is inedible. California alone cannot sustain the demand for fruits, vegetables and other agricultural goods. I for one don't want to live solely off corn cobs and an occasional apple as a luxurious treat.

Fucking end me already (L).

I sincerely hope, from the bottom of my jaded and blackened heart, that American farmers can finally have an even field to sell their products. I've seen it firsthand, through many of my friends and acquaintances, how idiotic government mandates and corporate takeovers have laid waste to our once great bread basket.

LETS GOOOOOO

PS pretty please bring back the sheep and goat markets, I'd like to make some money on goats for a change

Oh no, the fake money line game that always looks like an earthquake monitor went down slightly, it's over for Blumf now, RIP.

Why not? Wasn't there a city that God reneged on smiting because the population listened to a prophet? It was in the Old Testament.
That was Jonah who went to Nineveh. The King went into the street and rolled around in the dirt in sorrow when he heard they were going to be destroyed for being coomers, then everyone repented. Jonah was so disgusted by those degen coomers he was hoping they wouldn't repent so he could watch them burn.

ology, not onomy.
Askshually astrology is based on planetary movement patterns. It used to be a legitimate science until astronomy became a separate practice in the 1600’s.

The stock market is as reliable as horoscopes. Number going up means less than having the country rebuild its industries. That’s what makes an economy sustainable. It takes a while, but so does losing weight. It’s worth more to not be a fat fuck.

Can you explain to me in economic terms what happens when you stop exporting normal goods? Talk to me about Vietnam and rice.
Ok.

There's a country called Vietnam, which is a SMALLER country next to a bigger country, which is China. China and Vietnam both grow rice, which is a crop that is grown by rice farmers in rice fields, and rice is a food that is eaten by people all over

eat da livestock

Do I need to get someone to explain this to you in interpretive dance or something?

USA does not produce all the necessary foodstuffs to feed its population without significant cuts to their quality of life.
What cuts of quality of life would that be? Tropical fruits, coffee, seafood, and some out-of-season vegetables, sugar? Most if not all of those luxury purchases was produced in the states of America, where? Hawaii. Hawaii's industry was sugar and sugar byproducts as well as fruit and coffee. Unfortunately, they are too far to be economically viable (at least that is what they say), and instead turned to the closer Bermuda to import these commodities and South America for others. The US produces an excess and could easily become self sufficient if it was politically correct to do so. America is huge and has a varied amount of climates that other countries do not have, we could easily grow everything we want here. Unfortunately, we have green peace initiatives and bureaucracy that restricts this from happening.

Pretty concise article from the World Atlas.

The US imports only 20 percent of the food consumed because the country is able to produce a large amount of food for its needs.

Retard nigger, we pay farmers $40 billion per year to NOT farm their land. It’s called the “conservation reserve program.”

What’s planted is based on what sells and what there’s a market for. Farmers like to make money, not to have a state controlled scheme that tells them what they are allowed to farm with price fixing.

If we put tariffs, then we can idk, NOT pay $40 billion to farmers to entice them to leave their fields fallow, and we’ll be fine

Also, retard nigger, whether a crop goes to humans or to livestock depends ON THE QUALITY OF THE CROP. You don’t plant it ahead of time saying “well I’ll just make less money on MY land,” you have some shit go wrong like wheat with too low of gluten content to make good flour, and THAT is sold as feed

Tropical fruits, coffee, seafood, and some out-of-season vegetables, sugar?
Yes, although you produce enough cotton and sugar cane for it to not be a problem in that regard at least. I fully support strengthening the US agricultural sector, but sudden tariffs will not achieve this. Instead, it will only decrease the quality of life for the average citizen and farmers will not be able to shift production quickly enough to capitalize on the increased prices. Fruits, coffee, tea and vegetables are an important part of the diet (or at least a tiny luxury for the average person) that more carbohydrates and beef cannot replace.
