At the end of my final year of elementary school, I made a stupid remark at our class's awards ceremony. I won't go into specifics, but I was just being a dumb kid trying to be funny. Well, my best friend at the time didn't think it was amusing, which confused the hell out of me the following year when we entered middle school and he wanted nothing to do with me. I didn't mean to insult him and didn't even really remember what I'd said to offend him, but when my parents explained to me later on, I felt awful about it. Unfortunately, by that time he'd left for a different school, so I never really got a chance to apologize. Still, it got me to be more mindful of my speech and how I came off around others, and I made sure not to make such a stupid mistake again.

I relate this anecdote because I believe it gives me perspective on what Bob is saying here, and how he remains utterly clueless about his own behavior. He describes a recurring situation in his life where people would refuse to associate with him after a while, but he believes it is through no fault of his own. Suddenly, one day, for no reason at all, his former friends would stop talking to him, and he never understood why.

Yet, as my story illustrates, it's never "for no reason at all." Bob cannot grasp that he almost assuredly said or did something that caused these friends to realize that he's kind of a retarded asshole. Maybe he was sperging about Believers, maybe he was throwing a tard fit over Yoshi's Island, maybe he was just being obnoxious: whatever the case, it was his own actions that made them decide to cut ties.

And it persists to this day. Look at the many times people have publicly or quietly cut ties with Bob over the years because of his behavior, whether it's losing his job due to his spergouts or Lindsey Ellis putting him in his place. Bob still hasn't wrapped his tiny brain around the fact that it's always his fault that people don't like him, so instead he wraps himself in the delusion that he never needed them anyway, they weren't really true friends, and he's better off alone than stabbed in the back. Can't say I have sympathy for such a hateful little man, but at least I can understand where it's coming from.
