Is this game gonna suck?

BULLY also has a cancelled original Xbox port that I'd like to resurrect since theres so little info on it. I feel inspired by people making GTA III work on dreamcast. Should be easier when it comes to optimization, xbox is more powerful than PS2.

Its too bad the remaster was rushed. I'm hoping they fix the steam port since apparently a development branch was added or updated but its likely just licensing. It has been broken and unfixed since 2015. And the Xbox 360 version has its buggy issues compared to the PS2 version. They're only maybe fixing the mobile anniversary edition lmao. And maybe an update for ps5 and Xbox since it was rated for them.

Rockstar really fell off. I'm hoping fans recompile and reverse engineer the source code of Bully so we can make our own fixes.
Yeah the PS2 version will always be the superior, 360 never stood a chance.

Obligatory

The wii version of scholarship is the best version both because we have access to all sorts of its interesting beta builds and because it is a pretty refreshing way to experience the game which is modified from the ps2 version and kept the art style iirc.
The best version of a game being on the Wii, now I have heard everything.

I used to fight every greaser I saw because I liked their fight music so much

Rockstar really did after GTAV. We had so much great shit before GTAV was released. PS2 era for the company was amazing.

Now we get the 20th edition of GTAV and a very big possibility that GTAVI will be sanitized to not upset the trannies on Bluecry.

I didn't play Bully until a couple of years ago and was pretty let down by it. It follows the same general open-world with missions structure as GTA, but is far more limited because of the boarding school conceit while not really doing anything particularly interesting or unique to make up for it.

I can't think of any reason I'd ever play it over a Grand Theft Auto game instead.

I'm the same way. I never played it back in the day and I kept hearing how great this game was so I gave it a try and I was pretty disappointed. That game came out two years after San Andreas. I feel like it has to be one of those nostalgia things.

Phenomenal soundtrack that can be a little heavy on the xylophone at times. My favorite tracks are Sneaking on a Date, Defender of the Castle, The Slingshot, and all the fight music. Nearly four hours of great tracks that were so thoughtfully composed for each activity, location, and moment of the story.
My favourite has to be Final Showdown. Interesting little detail for you, if you watch Pirates of the Caribbean Dead mans chest there is a scene somewhere in that movie where the camera is panning in on an island and the song on that very short shot is near enough identical to that song in Bully. I would provide a link but I can't see that scene on YT anywhere.

I liked the 360 Scholarship Edition. I'd have gladly traded Max Payne 3 for Bully II but idunno about RDR1, I got too much good memories tied up in that one.
Maybe GTA VI will suck so much ass they'll go back to the drawing board and do something for Bully II but it's going to be absolutely pozzed and probably won't take place at a school.
Also I keep seeing talk of Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes done in the same vein as the Resident Evil remakes.

Loved playing this to death on the PS2. I would spend more time being a little shit to everyone than playing the missions. Shoving nerds in the lockers, giving everyone wedgies, pulling the fire alarm then running like hell from the prefects? I'd even date all the girls and get them to fight with each other when they saw me kiss another in front of them. I remember playing the 360 version a bit and it would lock up the system several times.

And how can you forget that Gary dressed up as an actual Nazi for Halloween too.

Bully is a game I wished I owned and played when I was still into video games. I can remember my friend's telling me how epic the boss fight with Gary because you could kick him in the nuts. When Covid-19 shut everything down I watched someone's full play through on YouTube. I loved it from the start. The characters are all memorable and I love the Bullworth environment. Wished we saw a sequel.

Had a lot of fun with it, I remember the modding scene back in the day where you could write your own mission scripts and play them through the arcade machines, or spawn any character as a pedestrian which I did to make the faction leaders appear because I always found it strange you could never find them in free roam.

Out of curiosity I checked to see if Bully Board was still online. Turns out it is, and so is the 85-page fanfiction it has that spanned 2009-2015. I used to like reading that thing when it was ongoing.

I played this on the pc once. I didnt like it, the gameplay felt too mid. Probably just me, Im suffering from Rockstar fatigue, their games are very well written but surprisingly poorly made and even worse aging, like Bethesda games.

I always had that dumb idea that Jimmy was the bastard son of James from Manhunt.
Jimmy is not related to James Earl Cash. Nothing is known after Manhunt 1 about what happens to him. He likely retires and becomes a hermit after such a fucked up event. They both just happen to be bald characters (but you can change Jimmy's hair so lol). Maybe Scholarship Jimmy where he looks like an older man.
But not the original Jimmy. 1000355103.jpg

Yeah, I know. But when I was younger, I thought that was the case. Because we all know that the MCs being bald is directly correlated with them being related. :tomgirl:
But in reality, it mainly came down to the fact that both characters were from franchises released three years apart from each other, and the general attitude towards Rockstar at the time. My friends and I all thought everything was connected to each other in some way. It was hard not to, considering this was the golden era of Rockstar.
