The Supreme Court is not going to be completely loyal to a President, it never is, but USAID needs to be nuked for the interest of the country, I agree that they shouldn't get rid of things like Social Security and Medicaid, but all this foreign expenditure needs to end ASAP

Mildly disagree, I don't think he would cause nearly as much seethe as Trump does, not that they are much different politically but JD is a career politician, if I see wins in 2028 it will probably be a similar amount of seethe Bush 43 got where they are still mad about a Republican White House, but not bitching about him as hard on mainstream media

As a slight tangent, let's remember the reason why Japanese manufacturing is so good. In the 1940s, their manufacturing was so bad that we utterly crushed them in WWII, and afterward, they said, "Damn, we need to hire the guys responsible for getting American industry to crank out tanks and planes like they were children's toys. But surely they are too busy making America great." Meanwhile, over in America, the guys who helped GM, Ford, and other companies shit tanks and planes had even more ideas to take manufacturing to the next level. The American giants told them, "Nah, but thanks for your service. We're cool with cars falling apart in 4 years." So JM Juran and W Edwards Deming fucked off to Japan and taught their manufacturing principles to Japanese industrialists. Two of the guys who took copious notes were Eiji Toyoda and Soichiro Honda. The rest is history.

God, it makes me nostalgic.

20 years ago, everything we did was automatically the best, or close enough to make the argument plausible. You were an American, so you were the best.

I just got caught up again and I'm late as fuck and here for my clocks. I knew the dems were fucking mega mondo retards...

People (even very smart ones) don't get that we fucking let people into the country for < $1 million right now and always have and most countries do something similar. Fucking insane people STILL bring up muh gold card like charging 5x more is a bad thing or try to compare it to illegal immigration.

Without getting PL-specific, my area is very heavy in oil and gas drilling. The scuttlebutt from pipeliners, drillers, righands, etc is that leasing is blowing up and everything is being moved into place. It takes a few months to get everything primed for an oil boom; my experience in the Eagle Ford boom in 2012 taught me that. I'd say around May we should be seeing the results, or hopefully sooner.
