Did she go to the hospital? I've heard actual cat bites are no joke. It's one of the practical reasons for not declawing your cat, because you'd rather get scratched than bit.
To think, all along I thought it would be Lord Beetus to be the first to take a limb only to get shown up by whoever the god of cat bites is.

An asshole stray kitten once bolted in to my house and stupid me grabbed the fucker and got a good, solid (real) bite on the hand. When cats bite for real they bite hard. I went that day to a clinic and had to get some serious antibiotics, and it blew up like a balloon. My rabies was up to date thank god but they had to catch the kitten, hold it for observation, then they released it after it was neutered. I now have arthritis in the knuckle it bit down on. Cat mouths, especially street cat mouths, are disgusting.

Not to derail from the lovely cat chat (sweet ginger good boi) but needed to confirm that yes Salad has tried many times to flex his noodle arm muscles and put his hairy foot down on Chins eating. Many times.
Most notably during her Thailand beeze in Sept where he made a 'home gym' and on her return said he would make sure she was eating healthy, announced a 'health arc incoming', no fast food and daily exercise, along with banning 'bad foods' in her chat.

My super healthy and athletic grandfather got hospitalized in the 90s with sepsis from cat inflicted injuries due to trying to break up a fight. He was in the ICU for two weeks out of a six week stay. She's fucked if it gets infected.

I was raised around cats and dogs since I was a baby. One of the first things that my parents taught me to avoid animal bites and scratches was to leave them alone when they were eating. Especially stray animals that have no idea when or how much their next meal will be.
It amazes me to see an almost 42 year old woman trying to mess with stray cats while they’re eating. It’s asking to be bitten by one.

She tried to hug a stray cat? That's insane. Cats in general don't like hugs, they feel like they can't get away in the event of a threatening situation. It causes them to spaz out.
