In other news the devilish diva Nerissa Ravencroft broke down crying on stream due to the cancellation of a "pre-order item" she had been waiting months for. Apparently it was cancelled on accident when she ammended the order. What's left out is that it was likely the Aerith Music Box a fan had purchased for her by arguably her biggest superchatter through a proxy along with display case and Aerith figures. Now there's nothing too sus that's been gifted to her in the past here so I doubt it's yab-worthy and her fanbase is accustomed to her retail therapy and gacha spending so they won't get upset either. As a "girlfailure enjoyer" I got a sensible chuckle out of Hololive's resident wet cat causing problems for herself.

Suisei is last for SC's, successfully re-directing her fans to support her more directly. I can only imagine merch sales and total membership numbers being of any use for vtubers with CCV, SC and subs being ancillary information.

She’s just doing the “pick me” bit and validates lonely men/incel opinions and content to grift money and views.

My biggest issue is that it’s legitimately her only form of content. Even Kirsche plays games occasionally. I think the only game I’ve seen Alana play on stream was Miside, and that’s hardly a game.

She’s just doing the “pick me” bit and validates lonely men/incel opinions and content to grift money and views.

My biggest issue is that it’s legitimately her only form of content. Even Kirsche plays games occasionally. I think the only game I’ve seen Alana play on stream was Miside, and that’s hardly a game.

There's other vtubers who cover similar reaction topics that at least think somewhat critically and push back on the ideas discussed in the videos they react to. Rarely with Alana.

It was the music box, I'm looking if someone had archived it back at the time but I follow her RM on twitter and immediately after the stream she was tweeting about it

And in that string of tweets she directly posted a picture of the music box saying she was now never going to have it and shortly after deleted that tweet (I would presume because she is walking on that line and not wanting to directly brigade fans toward a product she was unable to get, the same reason she wouldn't mention what the product was on stream as Nerissa)

It's amazing how those girls can go through multi hour streams simply saying thank you, answering a question they may or may not know the context to, and going on the occasional tangent to break up the mundanity. I sure can't watch those.

Unless Cover is secretly forcing their talents to work like Chinese sweatshop workers, I just don’t see how it’s logical to surrender a position in such a comfy gig with by far the biggest built in audience and content ecosystem.

Going the indie route only makes sense if they’re popular enough and have enough dedicated paypigs, but Shion doesn’t even stream that much so it wouldn’t seem likely she would do that anyway.

I get the perspective but at the same time I think a lot of cases of stuff like this, even outside of vtubing, is just that people who perceive a job or position as desirable without actually knowing what it's like to be in that position will always think that way.

Like a poor person will always look at a good paying position and be like "god I'd never leave if I could do that" while at the same time someone in a well paying job might daydream about just fucking off from it all to go live in the woods away from responsibility. Grass is always greener goes in both directions. Some people just don't make their life decisions based on "easy money" and will fuck off to work a simple and less paying job if they consider that lifestyle more attractive.
