Very good job, Elon. No one can tell you're high, and everyone thinks you're the coolest guy around! You're doing it, keep it up!

Yeah that's not what he's thinking. I like how even the "genius" version of Elon that exists in that Twitter user's head still just sounds like an autistic retard, though.

speech was 🔥🔥

Politicians don't speak like this anymore
Yes, definitely degeneration of elites is a real thing in America, and it's rather sad and depressing.. When your elites are such a low quality, their unearned position feels much more jarring and unjust.
That being said, it's a politician speech and it reinforces some untruths about world politics which I think is worthwhile to point out.

The Trump's moves with Putin would make no sense if you perceived Putin as a real enemy of the free world. But in the reality it's more "We have always been at war with Eurasia" thing, and only in this context it makes sense. Otherwise it would be just insane not only from the point of view of a rabid liberal, but also from the loyal MAGA crowd. It's not clear to me how they deal with cognitive dissonance, because I think they expected him to be strong with Putin and Xi, as opposed to weak Biden. But since being part of MAGA crowd means you had to deal with huge loads of cognitive dissonance so far, I guess they are doing fine.

I think the general tides show that the system is under severe strain; they are really running out of money, and they took rather desperate measures including appointing Chaos Commander to create distraction and dissent that has nothing to do with real issues at hand.
If that was an attempt to get higher levels of engagement from regular people, I think it failed miserably, because it's quite easy to see through.

You should never have had a positive opinion of him. He bought Twitter because he could and turned it into his personal shitposting platform. He's done some interesting stuff via his venture capitalism but I wouldn't be surprised if Bezos's space stuff is the superior way like how nearly every other electric car is better than a Tesla and how actually having a bank acct is better than Paypal.
Only doing this because it highlights what a loser Elon is and that's why we're here, but akshually he bought Twitter because he got butthurt about everyone meming on him, made a poll about whether he should buy Twitter (not because he really wanted to but just to feed his ego and do some damage to Twitter), went ahead with the intention of backing out on some bogus technicality and then was forced by a court to buy it for 5 times what it was really worth.
The purchase of Twitter is probably Elon's biggest fail considering how stupid he made himself look.
You'd be surprised by how many people believe the shit he's supposedly cutting. It's just like the Springfield stuff, outrageous, wrong, but idiots believe it as well. (The trans mice, for example, were actually for research of estrogens role in osteoporosis in males).
I actually was surprised. The first time I ever spoke about Elon post-seig heil with some colleagues I consider very intelligent, I was the only one there who did not think he was a good CEO or even smarter than the average Joe. All those movie cameos and puff pieces seem to have paid off for him as far as cementing his public image.
It may true that a majority of the "MAGA" crowd loves Elon, but virtually no one else does. Perhaps Trump wants to play to that 25% of the American people for his whole presidency, even as the majority of the country hates what Elon is doing, but at some point Elon's unpopularity is going to spill over to Trump. Maybe that's when he realizes it's time to toss Elon overboard. But then again, maybe The Donald doesn't care anymore, and is just going full-on mask-off fascist?
I think it's a much larger portion of Americans than you think. Ask your colleagues at work or check the YT comments under the recent Joe Rogan interview he did.

We're a self-selecting group here in this thread and the anti Elon groups on Twitter and Reddit. Elon's retardedness is obvious to us, but a significant chunk of people just don't see it and still think he's a super genius who will take us to Mars.

I don't think half the country are MAGA-tard Nazis.

I think the truth is that most Trump voters weren't thrilled to vote for him, but they felt Kamala was worse. The stereotypical "MAGA" fanatics are definitely out there, but they are only 25% of the country, tops. This means most Trump voters do not like Elon's "chainsaw" approach to cutting government, and they can be swayed. Just don't tell them that they were wrong about everything else and that they should have voted for Kamala.

I think most Republicans have no idea what Trump has even been doing with Ukraine. Helps that reporting on it is completely fucked in right wing media, so stuff like the mineral deal went completely over their heads on how it went from a half trillion dollars for the US, to something like $350 billion, to finally being for what the US sent as aid (so probably under a hundred billion?).

You also have the repeated calls from Zelensky to sign a peace deal treated by right wing media as him coming around rather than it being a sign the US is oddly refusing to let him sign a mineral deal now.

It's sort of a failure of left wing media though that they also are pretty mediocre about reporting this stuff, as it shouldn't be that hard to highlight the ridiculousness of it.

Remember when Republicans hated Russia and now they just suck off Putin as hard as they can?

The Dems rode on identity politics till the wheels fell off. People are concerned about affordable housing and Grocery prices not proper pronouns. When people are desperate they become unpredictable. I feel like that’s kinda how the elections played out. Desperate Voters won.

Voted for Trump very reluctantly in 2016 on the basis of him being "Not Hillary."

I'm so fucking mad about the covid and vaccine fiasco (which he still keeps bragging about to this day) I didnt in '24.

Harris was not only worse, but she was also worse than other (D) candidates I *may* have begrudgingly voted for.

I am incredibly ambivalent, at best about Trump. The "GOP" was on its deathbed for funding votes and support when he came down the escalator. Hillary lost and that was MAGA enough for me. He spared us from Kamala. I'm going to enjoy the party and the memes and Trump being a bull in a china shop and making some of the worst people on this planet rabidly assmad but "owning the libs" wasn't in my top 10 kitchen table issues. I still think he's an idiot and that America deserved better than either of them.

That's where "the donald" irritates me. "If you support Trump and MAGA, you have to support Elon!"

Yeah no. I've already seen this shit before. "If you're [gay/black/crippled/whatever" you have to support Hillary!"

No, I don't, and I'm going to vote to get rid of anybody who does in the midterms.

Many of them still do, which is why there's this awkward two stepping going on with Republican congressmen trying to avoid outright denouncing Russia or supporting them. It's why you'll find many of them trying to say Zelensky blew things up with Trump by being rude rather than mention what policy issues were actually going on. Which largely worked on many Democrats who think the issue was Zelensky didn't kiss ass enough rather than it being more substantive.

The problem is the American electorate is entirely unwilling to engage with the topic of foreign policy. You get a bunch of vague platitudes about how we should 'defend freedom' or 'stop policing the world' without any substantive policy underlying the sentiment so you end up just doing whatever the retard of the week feels like. So under Biden you get infinity dollars into dubious projects for Ukraine and under Trump you get, "ukraine is not my friend because zelensKKKy is mean also infinity tariffs"

The current situation is painful and it should be. Americans should be forced to contend with the fact that voting for president purely on domestic issues is retarded when the president is most powerful in matters of FP and doesn't get as much sway over domestic issues.

Also on a tangential note - I don't fucking care what George Washington had to say about FP in the 1790s. He lead a small coastal agrarian country positioned in the middle of tons of warring European empires, he almost certainly would have had a different position on things if he had to lead America in its current day position. People need to stop quoting him on this because it's wholly unserious.

Also I just saw this but is it true that Elon had a botched penis implant? If so that’s fucking hilarious that all the money in the world can’t make his dick big.
This rumour sent me down the botched Penuma rabbithole the other day. I wish I had saved a screenshot of the guy who compared it to a Cybertruck because it looked weird and “you can’t even do regular dick stuff with it.”

Trump on two astronauts stuck in space: "Maybe they'll love each other, I don't know. But they've been left up there. Think of it. And I see the woman with the wild hair. Good solid head of hair she's got. There's no kidding. There's no games with her hair."

AHHHHH, where is the Trump thread!!

Posted here because re-hash of the old "Musk rescues the astronauts" hoax.
