Minecraft

INB4 another slop pack that throws together a bunch of mods with no configuration but because it has a cool trailer people jerk it off. Just like RLCraft. Everything in that trailer is so scripted that even the thumbnail is 100% fake. At least DeceasedCraft has a lot of shit done to it that makes it actually stand out from other modpacks. Still needs some better balancing but overall it's pretty unique.
Onto a different topic, I wish you can extract certain data from servers. What I mean is, I was watching my friend play on a Cobblemon server with a bunch of pretty damn nicely made models of Delta Pokemon among other cool models, but because they want to monetize it (just like every other Cobblemon/Pixelmon server in existence) for as long as possible they'll never release the assets, even when the server inevitably shuts down. Most of the things you'd probably want are going to be coming from crates (if you've ever played on a public server, you definitely seen these before) which-of course-are going to set you back a pretty penny of real life currency. It's sad how egregious and widespread they are.
Makes me want to learn blockbench, texturing, and however the fuck the Cobblemon are programmed but by the time I become confident in these skills it'll be the heat death of the universe.
Just gonna necropost rq to say how interesting it is that troons literally are trying to mention prism launcher any time they have the opportunity to in order to decrease the amount of polyusers.
>Someone recommends PolyMC
>A horde of troons bombards anyone who mentions PolyMC in any capacity with Prism
>You're downvoted to hell for daring to just stick with PolyMC

At least in my experience, I liked to recommend people PolyMC (and other launchers like ATLauncher) when they're looking for a launcher and then very mildly discourage against Prism just the watch the seething. I don't say anything rule breaking so they never banned me.

It's amazing how long this mod has been around for, and how little it has changed over the years. From 1.7.10 to now I don't think a single thing has changed beyond the version number. Not sure if that's good or not.

Becoming a demigod by mid-game definitely seems like a bad thing. Then again I never configured it to have proper balance, but it was piss easy to build an OP suit early on in the game, unlike with IC2/Greg where it was properly balanced. I guess using other tech mods and MP allowing you to use any of the tech mod crafting items is what really offsets the balance, it's much easier to get Thermal mod items than IC2 ones.

Oh hey @Slav Power, nice to see you still around.

Yeah pretty much, that mod was never really balanced. Or good IMO.

Can't say how much I agree with, been ages since I did anything advanced with tech, but it can't be hard to be more balanced than MP.

I've decided to pull the trigger and install PolyMC, and to be fair, it is really good and I should've made the move earlier. I forgot how nice MMC's config granulity is where you can manipulate every Java dependency, Curseforge downloading just works which was the main reason I chose ATLauncher over MMC, MS Account authentication works just fine, doesn't seem like there's any funny business going on which was my main concern for which I went with ATL over any MMC fork post-CoC drama.

Grabbed some gay 1.21.1 modpack, installed it, ran it, it's good. Might try and make 1.12.2 run on Java 21 at some point, or give up when it doesn't, then try to play GTCEu a bit more, then give up cuz I hit a wall at EV and idk how to expand further and not touch it for months again.

Looks neat, definitely needs a lot more time but there's something there.

ONE OF US! ONE OF US!

And yet people tend to sleep on it often...

Not only is it possible to make Java 21 run on 1.12 using CleanroomMMC, you can use LWJGL3 and even shove a Sodium backport if you rather that over Optifine (which I'll probably still use for older versions like this). It's not perfect but it's something, plus they're working on fixes for mod compatibility.

If they also managed to backport Iris for shaders then I'd be happy. Optifine is painfully slow to adjust, and switching shaders is like cock and ball torture.

Though the real challenge with all that you've mentioned will be: can I convert an existing modpack to run on Java 21 w/ Vintagium, or will it shit the bed because it's too finicky for that?

I...do not know actually, I can imagine it'll shit the bed a bit but at the same time I'm not tech literate enough to say for certain.

I've been using MultiMC. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't have a Forge mod browser, which means I have to use the advert-riddled FTB launcher to launch certain modpacks.
