It happens to just about every character from that game given virtually the entire fanbase is an aesthetic-coopting, projection-obsessed, toxic positivity-poisoned bug hive, but it’s always been especially bad with Poob (and will probably continue to get worse due to implications in the game’s lore. Because it has a lot of that, for some reason.)

Doesn't help yeuc_c and the overall Regretevator team are SJWs themselves (they were very active during the whole Palestine conflict, even withholding updates to show "solidarity to the Palestinians" as if delaying your game updates will totally help the Palestinians lol—complete Slacktivism despite yeuc_c did attend protests iirc, but I need to find such tweets but it's so buried because they retweet a million Regretevator fanarts) so they enable all of this wholeheartedly.
All of these characters are littered with headcanons and LGBT stuff galore. It's not any better in the r/Regretevator subreddit where, like with r/HollowKnight and r/HollowKnightMemes, the top posts have at least one "UHM ITS/HIS/XEM/DIR PRONOUNS ARE ACTUALLY THEY/THEM/IT/ITS" post because a majority of the fandom totally cares about the pronouns of a fictional character.
It's the same with Gnarpy (the redesigned one). He goes by Xe/They (originally Xe/Xem) now and even then I'm still not calling him that. Poob and Pilby are apparently "non binary", Mannequin Mark and Wallter are a gay couple who used to be married for 6 years but broke up over a literal dispute between if concrete or wood were better building materials, characters like Mach are apparently AroAce, and there's three canon trans characters (Scag (transfem), Gregoriah (transmasc), Buttondrop (gregoriah's transmasc bf) in the game.
But guess who cares about this? Absolutely no one inside the game. Most players are people just wanting to play on some elevators and maybe interacting with the NPCs. Most players do not care about the pronouns and throughout my time playing it, everyone just called an NPC by what pronoun they thought they had. The only people you see taking heavy offense over the "misgendering" of a roblox NPC are Pinterest/Twitter/Tumblr users, the Axosun Discord and the r/Regretevator subreddit. But inside Roblox itself? No one gives a rat's complete behind.
Listen, I will not deny I do enjoy Regretevator to an extent. It's a pretty fun replayable game. But what makes it infuriating is how pandering it is. Doesn't help most of its fanbase consist of easily impressionable minors so they'll eat up anything LGBT or QUEER that's shoved right into their eye sockets. These people only care for these characters because it fulfills their shipping and queer fantasies. There's actual lore to these characters but it's so nonsensical you'd think it came straight out of a randomizer (Dr. RETRO canonically was in Guantuamo Bay over a framed murder for some reason??).
So many of great Roblox games are plagued with people like this. You could have the most basic, run on the mill Roblox design and people will eat it up and throw fur and hair tufts all over it and just turn it a whole entire OC rather than actually respecting the design itself. It's really unfortunate.
Trans!AM (lolololol like the airline GET IT?????????????????????????????) would make sense from one perspective: to mentally torture and fuck with people. Maybe he would convince people that they are actually secretly trans and need to mutilate their bodies. He would do it purely because of the lifelong physical and mental torture. But not from a "uwu trans ppl are valid uwu" perspective. In some sort of AU I could see him taking on that role just to cause strife.
