Death Stranding - Hideous Kojumbo does it again

Konami doesn't own the concept of bipedal mechs, nor do they have legal control over artists using their own style for future projects.
As previously stated by someone else, there's enough legal footing to bring it up in court. Would Konami do that? Is anyone's guess.

Hay Kojima, if you're that scared of guns would you rather get a nailbat to your pencildick instead? Just saying you have options here!

But now you're shifting the goal posts, and ignoring how your anger was aimed at the dude who approved, not created, the designs. Something tells me you weren't even aware of the artist and just saw red at the first mention of Kojima.

I know who Yoji Shinkawa is. But it still lands on Kojima to approve it and give him the art direction. They originally wanted Rex to look like Ray and then changed it to be flat edged to work on the PS1.

What's being ignored exactly? He's taking a design from MGS and barely changing it to use for a game under a new IP. If Konami pushed, they could go to court over it. But I tend to think Konami doesn't care and is out of the Kojimbo business entirely.

Because, again, you're ranting about rip offs and theft, not actually addressing that Yoji is involved in both designs. Like fine, you clearly have a weird hateboner for Kojima, but at least get angry about the artists behind it rather than solely focusing on one dude. This sudden concern for legalities comes off as pretty insincere otherwise, tbh.

It's kindov amazing just how much the Koji "magic" doesn't work when he doesn't have whole 80s movies to rip entire characters, plotlines, and visuals from... DS1 showed you exactly what trash you were dealing with. Koji's just trying to further ingratiate himself into Hollyjew, and giving his Hollywhores more paychecks. He didn't get me with DS1, and he certainly won't get me with DS2.
Delta is going to sell circles around this.
It looks pretty damn good gotta say. They aren't fucking with the voices or cutscenes, and if they don't botch the quality of life improvements - I think it's gonna be quite fun. I just want to CQC choke-slam english speaking Russians into the Soviet dirt.

I thought Delta was eyerolling until they actually showed what the game was and immediately got excited for it. It'll be the only game I buy this year more than likely.

My only question is how they're going to handle Eva's ah... introduction, given the cheesy graphics of the time really helped sell Snake's expression.

REX isn't so complex that its head or proportion couldn't be replicated by accident. You could just look up the same things that influenced Yoji Shinkawa. It's a big mecha-chicken after all.
Yoji Shinkawa is the artist who has been involved with both projects, designing Rex and a great deal of the Death Stranding related things.

Yoji Shinkawa, I have nearly completely forgotten his name. he's one of those talented artists that stands out from other work of concept art that I'm amazed that he hasn't split from Kojima's massive ego, even then he chose to work with him I just have no clue why he wants to deal with him.
It's a shame, out of all the things that Kojima steals he stole the most from him, including the Cyborg Ninja if anyone knows about how he was included in the story using a preexisting character.

I Feel that Metal Gear Solid is one big happy accident.

kojima fucking HATED the spanish dub of mgs1 because they dared to touch his precious writing

He also hated the English dub as well for the first MGS, mostly because they added in accurate US military jargon and terminology to make his script more believable without his input.

The point of that is why she does the job. It's a paycheck as far as she's concerned with the extra perk that she thinks her grandkids will find it neat that her face is plastered in the most obvious bombs of the last few years. The problem is the people treating bug face like if she is the sacred totem of motion captured faced and roles and constantly dialing her number.

No, it's not cool that Debra is fucking everywhere, but I have no personal beef with Debra. Last I heard she never went into an antiwhite spiel during an interview.
Very true. She hasn’t done anything that warrants concern for a game, or even talked about anything social justice-esque, but it’s interesting seeing her change from MadTV to now.

After MadTV, she seemed to have divorced her husband because the marriage was getting in the way of her career, and became homeless and overtime rejuvenated. You can see her appearance change into being bald, having tattoos, the stupid septum ring and gauges in her ears, and speaking like she’s a spiritual life coach now, before doing almost exclusively voice work now.

There's a big part of loyalty involved. I don't think he would have gotten this far in the video game industry with his style.
His signature design work with ink, heavy shadows and dynamic poses, while aesthetically pleasing, are near useless to a 3D team.

Working with Kojima gets him assistants and juniors artists to do 'boring' clean up on his front, side, 3/4 views etc.
Shinkawa & Chihoko Uchiyama got the best gig going as far as concept art goes. Kojima offers them the opportunity to do whatever the fuck they feel like.

From watching 'behind the scenes' of what goes on in the entertainment industry, any project that manages to get done is a miracle tbh.

He did have a role in CP2077 Phantom Liberty
Fun quest, and he was just there instead of rubbing his fetish in people's faces like the bartender
playing soldier and shooting people is the opposite of what Kojima intended for them
The meta is to slaughter all-but-one of the terrorists near the incinerator and repeatedly farm the almost undefended camp for road building materials
