And regarding Tophia "abandoning her mom", what was she supposed to do? From the way things are shaping out, she was sleeping in a (presumably) locked car in the middle of the night. It seems like she was awoken by the gunshot itself. She was probably in a panicked state and barely had enough time to escape the car herself before the perp drove off, let alone try to help her injured, elderly mother in the backseat.

I strongly dislike the Slydells just like the rest of you, but you can dislike them while still acknowledging that this is a sad situation. The two aren't mutually exclusive. Nobody deserves to watch their brother get executed in front of them.

Donald Senior is currently getting three hots and a cot courtesy of the Albuquerque taxpayers; he got picked up for b&e shortly before this happened. Probably saved his life, the schizo crackhead. They'll probably release him on a signature bond ASAP, though.

Mamachu is currently residing in hospital in serious condition, she's probably set for a week or more, depending on what doctors find out about that terrible, hacking cough she's had for ages. Given her age and physical condition, she has a chance to get put in a public nursing home for a while. At least she'll finally get on APS's radar, she wasn't long for this world car camping. She may not be long for this world anyway, her health was terrible even before being shot and losing her son.

Tohpia is the one who will likely end up on the streets first. She might get an overnight in the psych ward if she's smart enough to tell the police she's suicidal, but otherwise she'll be directed to the nearest womens shelter on foot and wished good luck. I don't think she's tarded enough to be assigned a caseworker of her own, her main problems are being fat, dumb, ugly, and unbelievably lazy. I'm sure she's terrified at being without any of her family, who enabled her all her life (and legitimately traumatized after being woken to her brother being shot in the head and under attack.)

I don't know how she'll get by on the streets alone, but lolcows tend to be surprisingly resilient.
