[Several blocks of quotes about food prep the past few pages in quotes go here]

Food sperg derail, because my personal autism for people burning their money at the pepsi-co pyre and hurting their wallets and themselves long term is flared after seeing all the responses for and against the notion of "4 hour meal prep"

People please, my guys, my nig-nogs... learn the power of ignoring a rich overpaid british celebrity who has maids and hired help and a personal supply line for ingredients and his own autistic personal crusade against the evils of freezers and cans. I'll spoiler the body of it to not fuck up the readability of the thread too much.

I'm gonna stretch and say it's relevant to the US since "Food takes too long" is some learned cultural ignorance.
And may RFK banish sneeds and corn syrup to the ends of the earth.

You can literally throw frozen beef patties (purely only beef none of that beef heart and soya bullshit. Even mega mart chains have at least one affordable bulk brand of them) into a pan based on portions and break em up as they cook and if you suck with a knife just throw a peeled onion into one of those new fangled 15 dollar quick dicers you punch down and you're already half the way to like twenty different lazy fucker meals. If you are can only go to the store twice a month tops even and are bad at tracking fresh stuff frozen vegetables are fine too.

Most stores will *deliver* your groceries to you if you don't have time to fill up a cart and get out the door in 45 minutes, I knew EMTs who at least have a couple home cooked meals. If an EMT has time I assure you, you have the time.

It takes like 15 minutes to take on sale meat of any kind to seperate the big pack into freezer ziplocks or vaccuum food saver pack it up with a 5 minute wipe down with a food safe cleaner after and it's 1 minute of actual effort the day before to put it in the fridge to let it thaw for the next day.

You don't have to be the indie darling home cook guy making your own bougie breads your first day when you're still learning time management, you can still feed yourself decently for cheap. Then later if or when you feel comfortable and can make basic bullshit fast and decently you can branch out IF you feel like it, if you don't? Also good. A lazy fuck pot and pan dump meal is still leagues better for you and your wallet than mc sneedles.

A basic dry herb or spice even if you don't want dollar tree flavorless shakers is 2-6 bucks and lasts for a whole lot of fucking cooking and unless you live in a swamp will stay good for 2+ years. It'll stay good in the swamp cabin for 1.5+ depending imo.

Olive oil/Avocado oil you use it at like one to three tablespoons at a time at most unless you're shallow fry cooking so the price isn't even that wretched over time. Deep frying at home can be annoying in time, cleanup and general maintaining it and a money sink unless you're eating deep fried food more than 3 times in a row in a week and again it's uneconomical without sneed oil or having access to tallow.

Even basic bitch better than your momma's mccormick packet version meat sauce spaghetti that will at least taste better than the wipe down eye-talian joints in your area is possible in 30-ish minutes with a pan and a pot, the time it'd take you to call it in and drive and go get it or wait for the delivery guy, and crushed/canned tomato is not even a bad product quality wise brand depending even if you're worried about preservatives since it's gonna have a whole lot less than any fast food you'd grab.

In fact fuck it, three links to get you started with minimal dealing with hipster yee tubers.

Budget Bytes: Simple ass recipes you search by ingredients for misc basic bitch home meals you can adapt or change for tastes later

Food Wishes: down to earth cooking guy who acknowledges not everyone starts out knowing things or owning all the gear or ingredients, if you can get over the weird cadence and ignore the more complicated recipes you've got gold.

The Food Wishes blogspot link if you really can't stand the voice and need the exact recipes

TL;DR: I am not smugging to you nor trying to be your dad, I am just a guy who used to make excuses too before it clicked that I was basically rolling up 100 dollar bills and eating them with about the same nutritional value. And the last decade has shown this is not the time to be doing that. You have nothing to lose, only to gain.

Real world bonus benefits for who might care about that too, EVERYONE. (I was just going to say bitches, not gonna lie to you. :story:) loves it if you can even rudimentarily cook, it's the easiest "you're in" ever for work schmoozing, dating, or doing a nice gesture for family or friends. It is the original and time tested cro-magnon bonding boost.

Are you fucking retarded? I'm a lazy asshole and I just fixed myself bacon and eggs for dinner. I cooked some chicken and made chicken alfredo night before. It's not that hard. If I can do it, so can you. Cooking doesn't have to be five star restaurant tier complicated, you absolute mongiloid.
There's some room for nuance here. Suppose you are busy (maybe only by your own standards) and only have time to cook something basic. In that case, you might as well minimize the time you spend cooking by making something *extremely* basic, because you're not getting something great anyway. It doesn't have to involve buying fast food for three meals a day. If you don't mind and doing so doesn't involve neglecting the welfare of dependents, why not?

If you have the free time and money to cook food that's enjoyable to you, or you consider cooking well an enjoyable hobby or valuable life skill, then the situation is different.

I can't believe I'm saying this but not everyone is retarded. Sometimes people have different incentives, values, skills and resources that affect what behavior is optimal in their specific case.

Why Pacific Islanders so fat? I thought the cope was that they are an agricultural farming people so they're big because they do a lot of physical labor.
Apparently its one of the few cases where it IS the genetics causing it. I read somewhere that in the past they used to travel very long distances on very low food stocks, so they kept their shape. Now that ultraprocessed food is everywhere they balloon out because their bodies and genes didnt have time to adjust.

I agree, however, once-a-week meal prep of a big fucking crockpot of whatever you like which you then freeze in portions solves that issue. Especially if you rotate what you make and don't just eat the same thing out the freezer the rest of the week, you'll have a backlog of several different healthy meals if you truly are that pressed for time. Steam up some vegetables/microwave them, and boil some rice or potato and you have a proper meal in 10-15 minutes.

I'm late, but everybody is late and gay with this article from February 19.
Saw someone on facebook crying about Trump and his ilk being Nazis and want to kill LGBT people because Trump shared this article. Honestly, Trump only shared it because it was about him. I looked forever for Trump's post because the man posts a million things in one day.
If anyone actually read the article, they would know that Jeremy Hunt wrote the shortest opinion piece in the world and only briefly mentioned the LGBT in reference to an old ad featuring a woman marching with a pride flag.

The most interesting thing about the whole ordeal is the artist who did the art that everyone is mad about is GAY and draws hardcore, punkrock art. He also follows gaybearsandcubs on IG. I doubt Jeremy Hunt, Trump, the editor, or the Washington Times knew about this literal gayop (ok, maybe the editor knew). This wasn't a dogwhistle, this was sabotage. LOL

Tangentially, can anyone explain to me precisely how the US itself being at war is a net gain for the US economy? Not saying it isn't, I just don't understand the mechanics.

Like, I get the iron triangle military-industrial-congressional complex, but that seems like a mostly closed system -- US tax dollars paying US military personnel, funding US companies development and manufacturing products used by the US military, and bribing US legislators.

I also understand the dynamic of US covert intelligencia orchestrating proxy wars to create buyers for US arms and equipment, but that doesn't seem like it should necessitate any involvement from the US military itself -- except as an excuse to create newer armaments so the old shit can be sold off.

I also understand the resource acquisition element, e.g. oil. I also assume there's some sort of geopolitical reciprocity for the US acting as a rent-a-cop for NATO/UN, though I admittedly don't know what that looks like. But I just can't imagine any of these things generating enough of a profit to offset what's getting skimmed off the top in order to perpetuate the cycle.

Where does the profit come from? Is it really just selling bombs?
It isn't.

When I was working long hours and had to do meal prep for a week or more all in one go, really all I could do was a ton of rice, chicken, and some veggies. To keep it from getting bland, after it was all cooked and distributed into the containers I would spice each container individually so at least I was getting some different flavors. I was eating the same thing every meal, but the five or six different sauce/spices I had in each one made it a little less monotonous. Never doubt the power of spices.

How to profit from war like an American:
  1. Declare a "peacekeeping operation" because going through Congress for a war declaration is too hard (plus, we don't want the plebs to catch on)
  2. Send the best and brightest young men to die in some desert
  3. "Discover" there's no more young men to work in critical industries
  4. Refuse to end the war because shut up
  5. Declare we must import the third world or America will not survive
  6. Import the third world for the cheapest labor possible
  7. Business cost goes down due to lowered wages
  8. Product consumption goes up because third worlders have low impulse control and are subsidized by welfare/NGOs
  9. GDP subsequently goes up
  10. Arms industry (which I coincidentally invested in just before the "peacekeeping operation" was declared) is making a killing in more ways than one
  11. "See? Line go up! America is fine! Diversity is our strength! Import more brown people! Kill the Russians! You're racist if you think any of this is bad!"
  12. Repeat as necessary.

Scott Thompson is still alive.
SCTV is pretty cool. And Rush.
clearly why we need tariffs!
the USA has been leaning on the world stage, especially Canada to handle things we could do in the states!
OUR Rush has been laying dormant for years, he hasn't done shit in a while after getting that medal!
and OUR American Second City is completely neglected!

I was treated to tofu twice in my life, accidentally due to menu confusion. I would not wish tofu on my worst enemies. That shit is a culinary abomination and one of the only foods I've ever had to outright just throw away because I could genuinely not stomach what was supposed to be a meat dish. That wasn't meat. It was a mistake. Fucking foul.

RFK JR. PLEASE PLEASE BAN TOFU. IT IS A THREAT TO NATIONAL SAFETY.
tofu works as a noodle type thing like in miso soup and not much else

there was a stretch where I had a weird all-you-can-eat work-at-home thing, so it really was way more economical for me to get cheap-ish take-out rather than stop working for cooking and cleaning,
but yeah otherwise I prefer to cook for myself over fast food a majority of the time, unless it's something I just don't like the hassle of, like fish is sort of a pain to get and use while it's fresh, then the place stinks like fish, or bakery. I find cleaning up from dough making and all enough of a pain I just don't bother

Imagine if they actually managed to succeed in tearing down tesla a company that's value is inflated like apples by faggy liberal. To their shock and horror like when they "canceled" the last 5 million people Elon Musk doubles down on alt-right ideology it now being his only possible source of income.

Also for some reason outer space exploration is an alt-right ideal so SpaceX will be fine.
