The Slydell saga is, and always was, a tragic and unsettling situation from the start, and began way before we ever knew who the fuck these poor souls were. It revolved around the uncomfortable and exhausting misadventures of most dysfunctional, mentally ill, deranged clan of sadsacks that ever roamed the earth, forgotten by God. TikTok introduced a generation of the worst horrorcows in terms of the perverse, miserable, and unentertaining kind to observe. The ones I never wanted to know about, actively avoided following, and would just pray for a miracle or divine intervention to rescue them from the pursuit of their internet sideshow hellscape.
Weens and cowtippers of the now aren't terribly different from ten or twenty years ago, except the TikTok crowd has a pattern of routinely, repetitively, and intentionally destroying their cows by way of selecting the most vulnerable, low hanging fruit or depressing situations and forcing an implosion through aggressively manipulating the most retarded and uninteresting people into being even more retarded and uninteresting.
They'll start feeding them with the undeserved attention and cultivating an addiction that they grow increasingly desperate for, and the resulting misfortunes were always beyond the worst case scenarios.
I can't speak on whether or not I feel like these folks ever had a chance at a normal life, but I can't help but think their dedication, obsession and dependence on the dopamine hit they had from being in the spotlight was bound to erase any probability they could have just wound up as unremarkable, average, blissfully unaware misfits without the burden of carrying on with a soul-rotting and painful existence. They're in purgatory until life comes crashing down in a catastrophic fashion because of a collection of poor choices and self-destruction. They're almost groomed into prioritizing attention-seeking to a reckless level. Trolls playing good cop, bad cop, alternating between encouragement and abuse, create an environment where they feel like they have fans and haters and like people give a shit what they're doing when they're just watching the show. It erods at their already poor and loosening grip on reality, now completely decaying and becoming the catalyst for life-altering fuckups that lead to a person's life circling the drain because they're not intelligent enough to know the difference.
In terms of actual livelihoods and human beings that could face the most extreme cases of internet-connection fueled ruination, Chris Chan will always be the case study for the destruction and deconstruction of an ill-fated spaz who wasn't destined for much but still ended up worse off.
However, I thought it truly thought it couldn't get any worse than watching the clock run out for Daniel Larson or Joshua Block, but Tophiachu's life started grim and will end grim on levels they'll hopefully never one-up.
As unsympathetic as they prove themselves to be on one level or another, their updates are too horrible and difficult for me to even take interest in because it just feels like they are always subject to being burnt out faster, harder and then discarded. They're just the weird tards who do silly things but get Bluespiked into oblivion and devolve so quickly, you forget that they're people.
They don't get milked and there is no prize cow anymore, they're just overfed to be butchered. They're no longer simpletons with quirks and internet access who throw caution to the wind and expose their oddities for laughs, but devolve into unfunny, deranged, unhinged drains on society and themselves.
These people were sad to begin with. They were rejected by society, codependent on one another, and needed protection but didn't want it. The Slydells are victims of their own circumstances and actions -- forever drilling through to a new rock bottom until they hit the core.
Forever fucked by her own resilience to change, reluctance to improve, complacency in dysfunction, weaponization of ignorance, heartbreaking incompetence and dedication to her delusion, Tophia is not equipped for a loss of this magnitude, nor are most normal people, and she is going to have a very hard road in front of her if she can find the grit to walk it. She's already living out of spite.
Her family was united in their combined interest in survival and the fact they had nothing left to lose, but things got worse. They always get fucking worse, and nobody knows how bad. This is bad, nobody deserves this, Jesus Christ I'm horrified.
