They generally don't. There are plenty of people who are actually not familiar with the sickest diseased most degenerate porn in existence and if you even mentioned it near them they'd look at you like you sprouted another head and it was sucking a dick.
Ah I remember this, Richard Meyer was the brains behind this shitpile and he was the also the one who picked out this awful coloring. Narwhal's style is a bit of an acquired taste apparently and does better away from CG retardation because he got a shout out from Mark Millar of all people for his action scenes and is now working with him on a mini-series that's going to be published by Dark Horse. Looks like the key to success in comics is to just not associate with CG retards
Yes, CG lit the spark but is no longer needed or beneficial to associate with them. When it was merely a movement that anyone could be part of if you believed in its ideals, it was at its best. When it became a label at the whims of EVS, it was at its worst. That is a very good reason as to why people such as Eric July, who believe in the things CG was founded on, want to stay away. Narwhal was talented but, by being stuck with idiot, he could not develop his gift. His stuff with Mark Millar look better than his stuff with Zack.

At the end of the day July just wanted to make his own comic in an image he wanted to see. While you should try to aim higher for your artistic work, he did what few content creators always proclaim they want to do but never actually do: successfully pursue a creative interest.
CG like most culture war stuff was only as successful as the people involved had the capability to be. I don't think you need to be able to produce quality art to be able to be a quality critic of things since there are so many variables that can make or break a piece of work. But it became apparent as time went on that a lot of the guys involved were in way too over their heads. Criticizing work that was obviously of lackluster quality, produced very lazily and was filled with dumb social justice pandering as way to make up for those things was easy to do. Producing their own comics and running their own publishing companies wasn't.
Nah, keep the comics. Change the gate.
I haven't thought about him in such a long time. I used to watch his videos but got sick of him basically doing the exact same thing every video: "WOW this art is BAD guys! WOW this writing....can you BELIEVE this guys?". Plus Nerkish was much, much funnier until he DFE'd.
And Ralph. And Mersh. And Vedo.
What's more fun to laugh at; a comic book skimming some money off the top on charity donations, or a fat hairy midget selling videos of his tiny dick pissing on a literal retard girl? Tough call.
The main problem is that everyone of them liked YTing more than they liked making comics and that hurt their productivity. Eric went into comics and knew how much of his time he should put into it and did so. Also, If a man with no limbs told some chef that their food sucks, do you think that the chef would have any right to tell him "well, if you can't cook, shut up!"? No, he would not. The man's mouth works just fine and that is all he needs to judge your cooking.
The pissing stuff is so vile. It's as if someone was asked to come up with a horrible fetish as a joke and this is one of the suggestions.
