I see TX and it's conservative gov is worrying about the important things!
How much money are they going to waste on this or other crap like their porn ID blackmail list? They seem to forget that much of this court already ruled against (8-1) the idea that you can criminalize fictional art, even photo realistic CG art. Almost none of this shit is going to stand up in court in all likelihood.
To be clear, i could care less about loli.. but this is DIRECTLY about a lot more than loli. They are trying to put an "age" limit, complete with criminal charges, on totally fictional characters at an age, which in real life looks indistinguishable between totally legal adult and illegal minor. This is the banning of multiple age ranges and whole art styles!
Based. We are so back. In the spirit of no infighting, a clarification on the law, and why Journalists are hacks (the article above specifically)

Pretty ghoulish all around. "Intent to view" DRAWINGS... fantasy, thought crime. And talks about 16-17 year old "children", that don't exist, never did and never will. Threatening to lock people away for minimums longer than a lot of rapist and violent criminals is next level. These nitwits need hung by their balls.

In the article they said Goblin Slayer would be banned. But in the law in the definition of Obscenity which itself cites, under Section 43.21 (a) (1) (b), Obscenity only applies if the work lacks serious literary, artistic, political, and scientific value. In other words PORN.
Is that any better? Obscenity is a legal and logical absurdity to begin with. A highly dangerous one to speech and expression at that. Porn is absolutely protected speech/expression as well. (It's also.. debatable whether drawn and CG images should be counted as porn to begin with anyway.. it's pure fiction, pure artistic expression) "Obscenity" is nothing more than "things some don't like" to begin with. And a very dangerous (and antiquated) concept to keep around. It's asking for so much abuse. Imagine the damage it could do with something like hate speech etc. Of course I never expect the conservacucks to have the sense to act while they have the chance.. not when they see it as a tool for censoring speech they don't like.
Obscenity legitimacy aside. Those exceptions are nothing more than technicalities. Freedom of speech doesn't and shouldn't hinge on speech meeting some completely arbitrary attribute word game some government goon dreams up. We don't have to justify rights, government needs a damn compelling, direct and serious reason to try and justify interfering!
"It makes me feel icky!!! REEEEEE" is not one.
This shit isn't even about loli. It's about about any imaginary drawing that looks under 18.. so as we've seen in practice, any female character looking younger than middle age and without GGG cup boobs.
Just out of curiosity, how many convicted pedophile child molesters being caught with lolicon will it take to convince you? Like give me a quantifiable value for how many children getting raped you'd like to see first.
To be fair, that isn't the own you think it is. I mean i hear convicted pedophiles have also been known to drink water at a rate near 100%.. they eat food too. Plus that suddenly becomes a LOT less impressive when you get down to the facts. If 5 million people view something and 500 of them are pedos, it doesn't actually say much about the thing being talked about.
This is the "fictional violence causes real violence because a few people who did real violence did virtual violence too" argument all over again.. How many times can this fallacious kind of logic be refuted before people stop using it?
