The president is using his authority granted through the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport foreigners. However, the Alien Enemies Act states that it can only be used when the United States has declared war against a foreign nation or government, or when the United States has been invaded by a foreign nation or government.

Problem is that Tren de Aragua is not a nation or government. Trump tries to justify TdA being a government by suggesting that the Venezuelan government has ties with a different drug cartel which coordinates with Tren de Aragua to flood the US with drugs. All that somehow means that Venezuela is ordering TdA to invade the US, so it is legal to arrest all TdA members in the US and deport them.

His justification does not make any fucking sense. Tren de Aragua is not acting on behalf of Nicholas Maduro to destabilize the US. They are here, abusing loopholes in the immigration system, to sell drugs and engage in criminal behavior.

Therefore, Trump has no way to use the power of the Alien Enemies Act to deport these criminals. There could be another way, perhaps by Congress passing a law that allows him to extradite known members of foreign criminal organizations. He could order the Department of Justice to prioritize the conviction of illegal aliens, provide state and local officials more resources to speed up prosecutions.

There’s a lot that he could do with his power as the Executive, but the power invested in him through Alien Enemies Act is not one of them in this situation.
There is a reason it says "Any foreign nation or government", and it isn't for redundancy. Not all nations of people had formal governments in the 18th century.

From the 1773 English Dictionary by Samuel Johnson: https://johnsonsdictionaryonline.com/views/search.php?term=nation

NA'TION. n.s. [nation, French; natio, Latin.]

1. A people distinguished from another people; generally by their language, original, or government.

If Edward III. had prospered in his French wars, and peopled with English the towns which he won, as he began at Calais driving out the French, his successors holding the same course, would have filled all France with our nation.
—Sir Walter Raleigh
A nation properly signifies a great number of families derived from the same blood, born in the same country, and living under the same government.
—William Temple

Nation shares the same latin root (natio) as nativity, because it is about birth, tribe, and race.

What the fuck are they thinking when they do this? Do they think the people would cheer for them over this? This isn't some group of normal illegals, these are straight up prison gangsters who don't even DESERVE the courtesy to breathe the same air as we do. This is why nobody likes you or your party, or anyone in a position of authority. Fucking unreal.
It doesn't matter. If they're brown then you can't point that out. You must accept them by default. They could be harming your family and you're expected to cheer. You can't notice that they're criminals, it's racist to call them criminals (after all, "no human being is illegal"). You are expected to pay for their misgivings, because a hundred years ago some Germans did a heccin genocide.

All that’s required for the Alien Enemies Act to take effect is a threat. Venezuela has threatened the United States before, even if you don’t consider TdA its own government, which in the context of 18th century sensibility it would certainly be.

The Democratic Party’s favorability rating among Americans stands at a record low, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, fueled in part by dimming views from its own frustrated supporters.
But why is favorability so low? What issues specifically might your party's base be having with what your party is screaming about? Come on, say it, we promise we won't call you some kind of -ist or -phobic for pointing it out.

The gamification of reading is so annoying, it’s worse than not encouraging it at all.
Late but was talking with a younger guy about this; when he was in elementary school he had something called "Accelerated Reading," and the points he got from their quizzes was tied to the "reading grade." I think the idea was that kids would read many books at their level, but the guy I talked to said he would just read like one or two "hard" books and not read any library books for the rest of the semester. If that's true, crafty guy.

Trump has some of the best lawyers in the business
No wonder Trump has been cozying up to Israel...

Green jobs are gay jobs.
Now that's just demeaning to gays. :story:

Gays at least produce copious quantities of semen, which is something, in stark contrast to green jobs which overwhelmingly produce nothing other that research duplicating results found decades ago about tech which was already discovered and found to be neat but unable to scale outside a lab.

But why is favorability so low?
Look at the last 24 hours and you’ll see why Dems are losing it. Trump bombed Yemen and is clearly starting another Middle East war. An easy winning talking point. Instead they decide to whine about South American druggies getting deported and somehow lose the day.

Every single sin the nazis committed the allies also committed, the only differenc is that the allies got away with it.

This is the most retarded attempt at a pepe in a good while. Green jobs are gay jobs.
Putting 'zero-sum mindset' on the republican side when it's dem's refusing to capitulate with the administration preferring complete and total gridlock to what they see as complete moral failure is pretty funny. This is so laughably pathetic, and as usual I'm not reading all those words.
So why aren’t they doing any of that stuff in the countries and states they control? By this logic housing should be cheaper in California and Ontario than say Texas and Arkansas.
Well OBVIOUSLY it's because TRUMPLER won't let them! Somehow! But stop noticing things.

I just don’t see that in any of Trump’s justification. His argument is that TdA is tangentially linked to Venezuela and that Maduro’s been charged with narcoterrorism in 2020, meaning that TdA’s criminal actions amount to an invasion of the US.

I fail to see the causal chain. If Trump had some information on Maduro planning to use the drug cartels to run some kind of Opium Wars shit, then there’s a link.

Some of it probably isn't so much policy as it is lack of results. Usually the screaming and whining gets results and that's not happening. Even when they do get some victory, it tends to be temporary or gets overwhelmed by multiple other losses that accompany it.

Think about it. Is the bugman bureaucrat upset at the Democrats because of their policy positions that enable his parasitic way of life to continue or is it upset at the Democrats because they're not doing enough to let them continue engaging in it?

The Democrats are fucked right now, and they need to figure out how they're going to cut the Gordian knot they find themselves in.

Their popularity is tanking, but it's not as clear-cut as that article implies. It's not just tanking because "democrats want them to stake a stronger stand against trump", it's also tanking because a lot of their policies and behaviors are reprehensible and wildly unpopular even among many of their constituents. Supporting violent gang members being allowed to remain in the US in a blind "all anti-immigration stances are bad" backlash, or going full-steam-ahead on the "men in women's sports" thing even as it's demonstrated time and time again that the result is neither safe nor fair. Coddling people like Mulvaney who make even honest trans women recoil in horror, and putting up with the recent "trans women are biological women" nonsense from some of the radical trans activists.

But if they try to step back to regain their more moderate supporters, they're going to lose their activist and radical supporters - as we've seen when they dared to even suggest they might not be entirely on the side of the Palestine protestors.

Right now, there is no winning move in the game for them.
Here's a interesting question.
If you were in charge of the DNC, what would you do to try to win 2028? do you stick with Moderates? lean harder into the left?

Drop troons. Kill troons. Throw all troons in a garbage can.

Tell progressives to eat shit. Remove IDpol and quit saying white man bad. Tell niggers that law is back and remove limp dick DAs, promise a less crime riddled America. Focus on labor and middle class. Remove sanctuary cities and tell blacks that illegal tacos are taking all the jobs. Promise no more global adventures and state a focus on removing corruption.

Also I would have a candidate with really huge boobs and was hot.
