Rather than "the news", the person being talked about is a reporter for KMSP-9 in Minneapolis (Karen Scullin). Someone who was in Nick's tweets and then deleted her messages after. All the details are in the thread back on 4-September.

Scullin wrote a story (perhaps the only story) about Aaron's RP arrest.

And YES. We can be certain that Nick did not pay off "THE NEWS". But did he pay off one particular person? I tend to think not because Nick was a broke guy back then not making house payments, not paying his traffic tickets and not even able to keep his law license valid.

One of the two instances Nick is referring to was a rant from Aaron's show last night, where he put both Fox9 and Karen Scullin on blast not merely for being biased, and not merely for failing to report on the case's outcome as much as its inception, but indeed for allegedly being flat-out "on the take" and "in the pocket" of someone. He didn't even specifically accuse Nick of bribing them with his own money as Nick's retarded tweet suggests, and he instead alluded to how "Nick's family has money" that would have been leveraged to influence the reporting in some way. Theoretically such a thing could have been done by Nick's parents through PR people or through influential charity contacts in a way that never needed to touch one red cent of Nick's "superchat" revenue and could have even been completely without his knowledge, so it is hilarious how his tweet misses the point, namely Aaron mocking Nick's obvious financial dependence on mommy and daddy that he continues to deny for some reason.

This was also a subject of MAPton's emergency-free "emergency show" last night, in which fatty rambled on about Aaron having committed defamation as if Fox9, Scullin, or any of the Rekietas would ever bother suing it out. Regardless of whether it even constitutes a defamatory statement to speculate about something that advertisers and muckrakers do all the time, regardless of whether Aaron's allegation is factually baseless, and regardless of whether Aaron's "prove me wrong" defense was as meritless as it is for Nick in the Monty case, Aaron really ought to keep it up just to get more funny overreactions out of Nick.
