No, Carl's Junior sent me a free meal (several)...
In exchange for a two paragraph e-mail I sent them praising their products when McDonald's started trying to copy them.
I get stuff like that all the time though. Lots of promises for stuff too, especially drinks. A lot of people will see a post I've made about something they agree with and then tell me if I'm ever in blah, blah, blah that they'll buy me a drink.
Con Agra sent me money, which is apparently unusual for them, or at least that's what other people have told me.
If you're looking for easy corporate money though, go with Wal-Mart, they throw money at anything moving in their general direction.
Oh, keep in mind though, if you get free ANYTHING from ANY company, you need to "disclose". For example at this point I can't say anything positive about Carl's Junior without first mentioning what I got from them... otherwise it's illegal under the FTC.
That's why it's sometimes a double edged sword if you get free stuff, because then it's like you can't really ever say anything without people thinking you're a shill.
PS - My life could be MUCH worse... I could be YOU for example... some fuckin nobody spewing text walls at ME!
Like others in my family though I do attempt to "blend in", being important without actually being outwardly recognized as such.
Like my grandfather for example...
...kinda wish my grandma hadn't written on that in pen, but at least there's two copies.
You will not find my grandfather's name listed in the credits of any movie nor anywhere else... and yet he worked on countless dozens of them as an electrical engineer and sign painter (originally for the vaudeville circuit). The only real proof that he had any direct involvement is all the fun little photos, movie set trinkets, props and so forth he acquired and collected, most of which one-of-kind items that no one outside of my family has ever even seen before.
I of course have continue the tradition. My client list includes multiple Emmy award winning production companies all the way up to the freakin WHITE HOUSE! From billboards to stand alone touch screen Flash applications... my work is EVERYWHERE at this point. But you'll never find it. ^__^
