Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

It's not my fault, it's caused by X.

Once you recognize this shit, you'll see it ALL OVER THE FUCKING PLACE. Leftists, incels, rightoids, femoids, trads, whores, etc, etc, etc.

It's the root of the problem in the world today. It's not my fault, if only X was Y. Fuck that shit. Sure, you got dealt a shit sandwich, but bitching about it and crying and folding is entirely-bitchmade. You man, woman, or genderblob up, ignore the shit you can't change, and change yourself. Get fit - even fatasses in prison can get fit, so do it. Get working on the things you can, and sure, you'll never ever be (insert rich/famous/sexy/whoever here) but you'll not be a fatass sad sack of shit bitching on the Internet.

Rich kid, living in the suburbs, not a whole lot to do besides stare at a bunch of knives? Do something, damn near anything! Talk to the neighbors you have! If you don't have neighbors, you're not suburban, you're rural! Who cares if the neighbors are 60 year old boomers, talk to them! Get to know them! You'll be surprised what happens. Do something! Imagine whomever you idolize, stuck where you are. Would they sit and moan like a bitch?
you're forgetting that most boomers are irritable fucks that absolutely hate young people in the suburbs so most kids rightfully just ignore them and especially nowadays just hang indoors or stick with close friend groups.

I learned that the hard way when I had to fight a feral child for my Ambernic console on a train.
If that was in Chicago or NY you'd probably be having to fight off a grown crackhead who wants to steal it.

By the way, a lot of cars have power outlets for the rear seat passengers and many of them also have screens as well.
It's sort of hilarious how they keep trying to argue how trains are supposedly the pinnacle of comfort compared to cars but never acknowledge the fact you are able to do even less on a bicycle and are even less comfortable.

If according to their logic being more comfortable means it's better doesn't that mean cars are better than bikes then? Or in the case where it doesn't where they make fun of car brains for valuing comfort too much that they aren't man enough.
With these people they can't seem to pick a lane.

How are they that ignorant of history, he's literally describing the situation pre-car, there was city, and countryside, 'suburbs' didn't really exist because horses are expensive af as a transportation option.

(Country dependant mind) Suburbs arose as a response to cities being polluted shitholes(because of factories/power stations/coal fires etc, see: dark satanic mills) and the countryside being mainly agricultural, combining the benefits of higher population for services with the extra space of the countryside without having to be in agriculture.

It's only been in the past 30 years or so and after kicking poor people out that Gentrification started making cities more desirable to childless losers like that retard, and even then suburb are getting expensive partly because yuppies want to move back to them as soon as they have children lol.

Suburban life was basically a more feasible version of what already existed for the very rich prior to the 1950s. There was always neighborhoods for the moneyed that had nice yards and big houses closer to cities so they could enjoy a more private and more lavish living situation but not be completely out in the sticks. Suburbia as we know it is just the middle class having their own version of that. The houses aren't mansions and the yards are a lot smaller.

The massive amount of infrastructure built post wwii where people were able to build houses and settle down with families they wanted their own house and a yard for kids to play in not a bughive flat or a townhouse scrunched together. People forget that cities are only tolerable when there is tax money to spend on keeping them very clean and well organized.

People hate on suburbs because they're just another "acceptable" target for ridicule in current year (it's been current year for a long time). There are critiques to be made for anything and there are pros and cons to living anywhere but it's annoying everyone pretends there aren't any pros to that sort of thing.

Perfect, but I would change Euro-worship and Japan-worship to """Euro"""-worship and """Japan"""- worship. I know I'm like a broken clock at this point but we need to distinguish between actual japanese and euro realities and whatever the fuck is in Jason fans' heads
Speaking of which:

First Japan, now Italy! Where will car-centrism strike next?

Venice is boat-centric:

Despite being identical to the hated American "stroad", OP's photo can't be one because it's in Europe:

Nope, it's not a controlled access highway. I'm not sure what it is because every intersection is different (roundabout, onramps, roundabout with lights, interchange, etc.), but it appears to be a aertial road with frontage roads that allow access to businesses between intersections:

I guarantee you that they'd call this Houston road a "stroad" though despite being a frontage road:

Sidewalks are all that's needed for walkability in Europe:

the area already has sidewalks though:

I guess the Financial District of New York City is unwalkable then?

Why has Europe not been frozen in time for the past 1000 years?:

Yeah that's why cooler than this awful boring lame suburb.

The boring complaint always bothers me because boring is a feature, not a bug. Boring means getting to choose when and how you entertain yourself without your environment imposing on you. Most people don't find fulfillment in random encounters with homeless drug addicts on the subway.

RETVRN TO HORSE
I never thought I'd see someone genuinely shocked by the existence of highways or big roads in a foreign country, yet here we are. Yes, there are highways, golden arches, and cars- because they're practical and people everywhere like using them. Shocker!

RETVRN TO HORSE
If we really did return to horses after a solar flare or something passes the Earth it would be hilarious as the fuckcars people (fuckhorses? That just sounds even more wrong) would complain even more about how economically inaccessible it is. Can a poor person buy a 2003 Ford Focus? Sure probably. Can the same person afford to feed and maintain a horse while being jobless and on benefits? Neigh.

If they did live 1000 years ago they would be the penniless peasants that get trampled by horses on the street.

There's a pretty good correlation between urbanists and soft on crime faggots who want the abolition of firearms ownership.
We can have urbanism if we have Singapore laws harshly cracking down on niggershines but those guys think that's racist.
Even in Singapore, everyone wants to drive and anyone who can afford to does.

Sorry, I can't hear their complaints over the roar of my engine neighing of my horse!
Re: poor people affording cars. With decent googling skills they can handle most car maintenance themselves- there are tons of yt videos showing how to fix just about anything. You can't do that with a horse that needs a vet, which makes upkeep way more expensive. Cars are the great equalizer- almost anyone can use them and keep them running
Even poor people deserve freedom of movement

The other problem with mass horse transport is that they SHIT, a lot!
And piss. And they don't particularly like paved or cobbled roads. And dead horses (and they died a LOT back then) are hard to move so they lay in the street rotting for a week or two before they've lost enough weight to be easily removed.

City horses lived a harsh and frankly abominable life.

Neo-urbanists don't want to achieve equality by lifting lower classes up, but by dragging everyone else down to the lowest common denominator. When the baseline is terminally online Munchies with self-diagnosed anxiety disorders, the common denominator is quite low indeed. For all their rhetoric about car drivers being selfish, it seems hypocritical to demand that transit be rebuilt from the ground up for a tiny, unproductive minority.

You think urbanists have nightmares about Henry Ford chasing them down an empty windy endless suburb?
To them, Henry Ford's greatest sin was he enabled the idea that everyone could have a car.

Very true, they despise the average working class person. They're against the idea of people having personal autonomy to be able to own things. That's why they constantly have to lie about the suburbs being subsidized otherwise they can't come up with a reason why people living outside of cities that they never cross paths with bother them.

You see it now where urbanists like Jason are conceding that certain people are allowed to have trucks, but not you.
