wait.. people buy lobster with SNAP? no fuckin way.
I don't watch tiktok so I don't know what people are cooking for clout but you can buy frozen seafood, including lobster and crab. You can't buy cooked shrimp (a lot of grocers will dump old bay on it and steam it if you want) but fresh and frozen shrimp is fine (and you can probably have the shrimp steamed after you've paid for it)

shrimp is one thing, gumbos and cajun cooking use it a lot. lobster and crab? fuck no, dont use EBT on that

Soda is actual literal goyslop that rots your teeth, makes you fat as fuck, and lowers testosterone.

I'm very disappointed that so many self proclaimed conservatives are shilling it.
What's the most idiotic to me is that they're all missing the greatest point; soda is a 'luxury' food item, in the sense that you absolutely do not need it whatsoever to survive, and that it serves as nothing more than a treat. When you're out on your ass and needing a government handout to get by (which is fine, I think it's happened to most of us at some point in our lives) the last thing the taxpayer should be doing is contributing to lowering your quality of health and making you even less capable of working. If you want a treat then it should be out of your own pocket.

This is actually kind of fitting. I'm sure it's been said plenty of times here and elsewhere, but lobster historically was a working man's food. Only recently did it become an upper-class thing. I'm actually of the opinion that fish and seafood ought to go back to being a poor people food and remain eligible for purchase through benefits. Lobster is 100% better for you than any of the candy or soda you can buy with them.

My custom title isn't just a reference to an awesome DBZ dub line I grew up white trash and when you've seen as many 400+ pound women pushing a shopping cart filled to the brim with nothing but cheap soda and trailed by half a dozen kids that all weigh 200+ pounds by age 10 as I have trust me it puts you off that fucking poison.

Pepsico and Coca Cola are poisoning poor communities and it's being subsidized by the U.S taxpayer.

I'll say this on the soda debate:
If they remove soda from EBT/SNAP My profits at my store will plummet by like 1-2k a day if i were to guess. I get a pallet each from the large brands (Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper) every week and usually run out by Thursday or Friday. I don't drink it and never have so its amazing to me the amount of money people waste on the stuff.

I will say though that in the last 5 years sales of the diet versions have skyrocketed. it's still not good but its a start.

Remember, Michelle Obama tried to improve just school lunches, not even all food in general, to a healthier program back in 2011, and Conservatives are still bitching about school lunches having carrot sticks and low-fat dressing in them instead of junk food.
Is that really what you think they did? They still served the same slop, they just served nastier versions of the slop. I'd have killed to get fresh vegetables on my lunch tray if it meant getting rid of the processed slop gruel they gave us.

I agree that stores would take a massive hit for it, but then why should cola companies, of all the worthless most pointless things you can put into your body, have so much pull in government, at the detriment of the health of the people it's meant to serve? If so much of their money is tangled up in poor people wrecking up their own health then they deserve that hit.

The same goes for any of these companies that shovel infinite money into lobbying into keeping eyes and hands off their businesses, essentially paying the government to look the other way. Soda companies, cereal companies, anybody like that pouring that much cash into government knows if it were any other way they'd have been regulated out of the market decades ago. You don't see people needing to lobby in favor of spinach.

oh i agree and lost profits would like be balanced by decreased stock orders, but the seethe would be enormous. and possibly entertaining. because, if you ask any person on the street most will probably agree with removing soda and sweets from food stamps but its probably one of those issues that are 50/50 so it'd be bad politics to serious peruse.

you mean like how they said there weren't any satanic rape tunnels under McMartin preschool only for files in the finders documents released in 2019 to reveal actually there were in fact satanic tunnels?
That was parroting a report that was already known back in the day, and didn't really confirm anything that wasn't already known, and was mostly hokey.

Not to mention there are no in situ photos of any of the things pulled from the site, and the presence of things like animal bones isn't surprising when you realize Mcmartin was built on top of an old landfill that would contain items like that.

Yeah, I'm of the mind that Trump and RFK ought to just come out at a point and tell it straight, "if you don't need it in order to live, we're not paying for it".

How are you going to redefine the definition of "food?" I'm curious to see how certain foods are gatekept like Juicy Juice from store brand juice.
Pure juice, not mixed. So pure orange juice, pure grape juice, but not mixed grape juice or say, sunny d. Also the WIC benefits in Florda (linked earlier) state "cheapest possible brand."

Of course a better idea would be to not give out food stamps and instead just amplify food banks, which could administer and mandate specific food types. You can have the components of a hot pocket, maybe even attend a "how to adult" class and learn how to make a hot pocket, but no, we're not giving you hot pockets, you fat lazy fucks. Sorry, not sorry. You are not owed your place in the spic-nig pipeline.

Point to the exact spot where I said niggers are selling food second-hand. No, the part where I said poors reselling kitchen appliances (read: not food (also, a concern stated in response to a hypothetical situation in where you are allowed cookware on benefits)) doesn't count. For this assignment you'll also need to include each of the other food items that I listed in addition to beans (hint: it's in your own post!).

Nowhere did I once say anything about reselling food items, or that you can only buy beans with SNAP. I gave you an entire list of cheap items that you can prepare many different meals with, items which I myself use. I can only surmise by how poorly you were able to read this and how incensed you seem to be that you are quite possibly one of the welfare niggers who would be most offended by having to cook your own meals.
Laundry detergent, soap, hygiene products and baby stuff "purchased" with food stamps are all widely used for trade to exchange for cash at pennies on the dollar.

A basic AI search would have informed you that "No, you cannot typically use Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, formerly known as food stamps, to purchase laundry detergent, soap, hygiene products, or baby supplies, as these are considered non-food items."

I’ve definitely seen you say this before. What is your autistic aversion to rice all about?
Negroes can’t even change their smoke alarm batteries. They certainly aren’t going to figure out rice cookers or bread machines. If we start expecting them to assemble basic staple ingredients in order to make their own meals at home, we are going to see a lot more ghetto housing burn down.
