If I remember correctly it's not even up to her to press charges because it's criminal so a prosecutor can press charges even against her will. Now ofc I don't have much faith in the American justice system, so nothing might happen to him.

From the very little I know about it (at least in some areas of the US) because DV victims often cover for their abuser the State can/will press charges in Domestic Violence situations even if the victim doesn't want to.
