Andy also can’t explain the fact that his “autism” seems to turn on and off at convenient times for him. Whenever he wants sympathy, he’s a screeching “autistic” man-baby who can’t care for himself or do anything at all. Yet, when he needs to act serious and manipulate people, he snaps out of it, talks in a relatively articulate and adult tone of voice, and actually acts like a normal person. He’s done it multiple times with his father.
If Andy claimed to have an unspecified intellectual disability of some kind (like just saying he has a very low iq) he might have a tiny chance of convincing people, primarily because he wouldn’t have to mimic specific symptoms of autism (stimming, social difficulties, etc.) and he could just moan and make noises and people would believe him.
