The Sims 4

EA released a patch to fix the child body shape glitch.

On a side note, inZOI's Early Access will be releasing on March 27:

Krafton did an AMA about inZOI on their Discord, talking about future things that may be added to the game:

isn't that the game with insane system requirements ? would be out of reach for most people sadly.

it didn't take long for Elmo Nazi tattoos to appear in the Gallery:

Yes, inZOI does have very high system requirements, although it's to be seen if it's because of the game pushing hardware to the limit with advanced capabilities, or dogshit optimization:

EA released an update for TS4, calling it "Quality of Life Fixes", but given how many bugs TS4 has, it wouldn't be actual "quality of life".

On the EA Forums topic of the For Rent Save Corruption Bug, someone mentioned about a possible cause of it, that with all of the Worlds being added with the many DLCs, game saves may be reaching the hard item limit, and if you reach that limit by making lots of rental units or putting lots of items in your house, it starts removing items from the older neighborhoods, starting with Willow Creek:

This sounds shockingly similar to the 32767 hard character file limits to Neighborhood Saves in The Sims 2, and if you go over that number, it starts creating character files from 0 again and your save implodes.

Thank you very much, I want to make K-pop look lolcows.

What do you guys think this will do to the Sims 4?

It seems like a good amount at least for early access, but it has a lot of promise. The Sims 4 is a barren experience that does not know what made its predecessors such classics.

Just like how Palworld won't kill Pokémon (not counting how Nintendo is been trying to take Palworld down with lawsuits), InZOI will NOT kill off The Sims 4 or the series as a whole for some reasons:
  • TS4 still has a captive audience with severe Stockholm Syndrome that continue to buy EA's broken ass DLCs.
  • TS4's player base tends to have weaker computers that will either have trouble running InZOI, or can't run it at all.
  • The anti-AI sentiment will also some people not play InZOI out of principle.
  • The lack of DiVeRsItY features in InZOI compared to TS4 (since InZOI is a South Korean-made game) will keep some people from making the switch.
  • Krafton's questionable past with microtransactions in their other games, as well other South Korean games being huge Pay-2-Win fests (i.e. MapleStory) will have some people distrusting Korean games out of instinct.
  • Build Mode in InZOI is less straight-forward to use compared to TS4's Build Mode, and may intimidate some players.
  • The uncanny valley feeling that some players have towards InZOI's artstyle, compared to The Sims, will also make some people not play.
  • It's yet to be seen how modder-friendly the game will be.
  • For the players of the past 3 Sims games, some of those players won't switch, if they don't think InZOI will be to their liking, and will keep on playing their older games.
  • Since EA confirmed that Project Rene will NOT be The Sims 5, EA will most likely take the easy route of milking TS4 with DLCs, until the game literally becomes unplayable.
This is a different situation from the SimCity 2013 to Cities Skylines, and the RollerCoaster Tycoon World to Planet Coaster and Parkitect comparisons, because both SC2013 and RCTW were financial failures, while TS4 did sell enough that EA milked the game with DLCs for a DECADE now.

I pirated TS4 and all the packs except Kathleen Kennedy's lame and gay Star Wars one to give it another chance.

I edited or deleted all of the nonbinary Sims, so that's out of the way at least.

I'm getting at least 12 phone calls or texts a day and it is overwhelming. Also, some of the mechanics of Eco Lifestyle just seem very bare bones to me. I'm not finding enough dumpsters to be able to dive in.

Maybe it will somehow grow on me but I feel so lost with how different the layout is from 2 & 3.

*Update: I uninstalled because I wasn't having fun. :(

and this is a massive problem, 4 just sucks, I hate this whole GaaS bullshit, people want sequels and EA keeps giving people the middle finger

these players have played the game enough to have over that many characters in their game?

Yes, easily. If you run an uberhood in sims 2 you are probably going to need to install a mod that prevents re-spawning townies because they grow logarithmically. I think there are 180 pre-made playable sims across all neighbourhoods in sims 2.

EA is doing an internal playtest for Project Rene, called City Life Game with Friends, and it is complete shit: / Archive

And if this is seriously the best that The Sims Team can make in 2025, given that Project Rene must have been in development since 2018 (?), EA definitely won't be making a REAL Sims 5 ever again.
while I don't doubt that it will be absolute shit, this article (and the playtest itself) doesn't really give us any new information does it? This just looks like Sims Mobile stuff with a new, terrible art style and the reputation of having Sims 5 cancelled to make it happen under its belt

I know Will Wright is old, living comfortably, and working on his projects, but I can't imagine he is proud about The Sims 4 or 5. His legacy has been destroyed by EA. The Spore franchise has had no new games and Sim City has been turned into the husk of a mobile gatcha game which was usurped by Cities: Skylines. If I were in Will's shoes, I would have already launched a cultural and economic war against EA a decade ago.

Sims 1, 2, and 3 being easily accessible (through piracy or online sale) now should be a wake up call to those that are still oblivious to how poorly made 4 has continued to be.

EA refuses to listen to old simmers and instead propagandizes double-agent shills to lull the gullible. The mobilification, hyper-casualization, and excessive wokeification of 4 and 5 will be it's death rattle.

i mean he probably makes a shitload in royalties from the sims so i doubt he cares that much. besides, he's working on an nft blockchain game now so he already ruined his legacy himself with cringe game mechanic
