I also prefer Robobot, but I’ve speculated on the idea of a more barebones remaster that includes both games. Made in RtDLDX’s engine and art style, with its multiplayer ported over. Instead of bringing back the original 3DS subgames, do what RtDLDX did and remake past games plus a couple new ones. Maybe even expand the Dedede and Meta Knight modes in each game to cover both games. That’s a lot of content for one release, but a lot of it would be reused assets to speed up development.

Whatever news is in it would struggle to break through after next week's show.

I wonder what new they'll have. I think PLZA skips, so lots of Metroid and then maybe...... Zelda Warriors? Throwing another longshot at Nintendogs too, I suppose. Thats made them a lot of money over the years, I don't think they're done with it. Oh yeah, and we never did get the Fire Emblem remake or our yearly Zelda product.

jokes aside, I didn't expect this! It's a nice surprise. I'm looking forward to that end-of-life weirdness. Basically anything is possible given how dry the Switch has been milked at this point. Maybe we'll get some weird foreign shit or a nice port of an older, less well-known title. I'm looking forward to whatever they announce even if I won't buy it because I haven't bought any Switch titles since Bowser's Fury.

I'd normally agree with this sentiment, but the director just retweeted the Direct's announcement so I think there's at least a slim chance.

It would be very funny if this was a last-minute inclusion due to the new mega rumors going around (even if I HIGHLY doubt that's the case), but I do find it curious that he'll be watching. If nothing else, it's interesting to note that he's watching what his contemporaries are doing. I seriously doubt many other people at Gamefreak care enough to try doing that without being directly threatened by competition at this point.

I'm honestly baffled at what they can possibly announce if it's not just a showcase of already announced games and if it's that why a direct? I'm hearing a lot of people saying deltarune tomorrow again over this.

Metroid is basically a given, unless they're treating it as a Switch 2 title despite being cross-gen.

I think Another Code Recollection performed decently, so maybe a Hotel Dusk remake will be announced. I expect something from Kirby, maybe just a port (the last Nintendo published game for 3DS was a Kirby port, they may repeat that). I'd like Switch to go out with a bang, announce a new Donkey Kong or Star Fox game, but it's unlikely.
