That logo screams "graphic design is my passion".

Not that interested in seeing Pac-Man dumbed down and casualized to appeal to From monkeys. This sort of thing isn't supposed to happen until the IP lapses into public domain. That game was announced a while back and I'm disappointed that it isn't cancelled. That anthology episode was right out of a lame creepypasta.

So the Nintendo News app, as of yet, does not have every game announced in the direct in an easy to read list. The only thing you can do is watch the direct. They are behind even the game journos.

Give me rainbows if you want, but the more I think about it, the more I think the execution of virtual game cards is kind of brilliant. It aims to emulate the experience of lending a game to a friend, without the abuse-of-the-system that can come with digital game sharing, while minimizing any risk of the game being lost/damaged/your friend refuses to return it for some reason. They definitely thought it through.

it was ok, at least they finally showed more gameplay of metroid prime 4
honestly speaking I was only surprised by the remaster of raidou kuzunoha 1, even if the info about them working on that was leaked a few years ago. I'm sure they'll release the king abaddon sequel soon but no idea if they'll keep intact that part about stealing the hair of a transvestite to transform as him for some stealth and interrogation segments, we're talking about today's Atlus, they already pussied out with persona 3 with reload so no idea what'll happen with this one
I played monument valley when they gave it for free on android, I liked it, I just hope they don't pretend to sell the duology for 60+ bucks
Funny how they called miyamoto just to announce some useless app

Well fuck me, I guess! Still, it was a decent presentation that managed to actually feature some surprises. Great to see Tomadachi Life and Rhythm Heaven back.

EDIT:

I wish we could get Prime 2 and 3 remastered on switch. Already have the roms but would be nice if Nintendo made them available on Switch or Switch 2

Do Prime 2 is a launch title just like I predicted around 2 years ago, same deal as Twilight Princess and BOTW. This is why there was no release date in this one - watch it get a concrete date next week with the Switch 2.

Wish they would release Prime 2 remastered

As for the virtual cards, I'm wary of this shit, but it seems like it's a mechanism for game sharing like on Steam? Wonder if they're gonna tie it to a required NSO subscription, it sure seemed like it when family share was mentioned

The app seems like it'll have exclusive stuff like comics so that's nice at least. It reminds me of miiverse or whatever. Frankly I went into this direct expecting nothing so I'm happy with what we did get. I hope Vinny streams tomodachi 2.

I have kids, it would be super annoying to have to re-share games every 2 weeks. So I think the execution is shit.

edit: oh and only one at a time, yeah fuck that

Not a fan of the whole concept, but did you loan more than one game to a friend from school? I don't think I'd dare do that

I honestly could not have asked for a better end-of-life Direct and I'm absolutely looking forward to almost half of the announcements :)
Insane how something like 2/3 of my personal wishlist for the Direct got announced and looked promising. Tomodachi successor's framerate is unfortunate but I don't give a shit because oh my god a Tomodachi successor exists.
As insane as it is to say, 2026's lineup might actually get me back into buying (or at least emulating) Switch stuff. Not a single stinker to be found in the first-party line-up, and lots of great stuff in third party too. Best Direct in years. :woo:
