Magic The Gathering

Honestly i didnt know the character, i was busy dealing with shit so i actually missed khans itself.
They either fucked up and used old timeline Oret or misunderstood that the part about him living in exile has to do with him becoming a cartographer and not being literally punished with exile.

Edit: Non-lore shit how do you guys feel about the set so far? I like the cards, but I feel they are too weak for current standard but there are at least always cool new edh cards. I like both Mardu spirit dragons and Mardu in general. Isshin's ability now being on a Boros colored siege is also cool.

Oh they 100% forgot they had different endings for him in different timelines.

It's not at all surprising that WOTC had to be shouted at so they wouldn't forget that romance. Also, remember how they wanted to put up a vote for which faction would win only for them to backpedal when the vampires won?
They didn't back pedal the allegation is they rigged the vote and we do know all the endings and the vampire one would have probably caused more issues if that did win as it sucks. For the record my favorite thing besides Phyrexians of all kinds is Ixalan Vampires.

Flashsisters, we are so FUCKING back

Love me some Snapcaster. I'm just retarded enough to try to make an 8snap deck in historic purely to cast this fucking thing.

Kind of mad it's a bard and not a wizard though.

They remembered it, they just purposefully torpedoed it for no reason, including someone else undoing the memory block Jace did to Vraska.

Then they fucking tried to use that Romance to make All will be one "matter"

People are happy for it in pioneer as it works well with Collected Company, but I don't know what you would want to use it for in standard.
You would want to use that 3 mana discount, but I'm not sure what a good target is and every card that naturally has harmonize is a sorcery.
Seem like they intended for Temur to cast a sorcery and then use their creatures later to flash them back for a discount later on which is signposted by their mythic, but I feel it is hampered everything being sorcery speed.

I will congratulate them on making her attractive in both arts, but she still doesn't look like she has the power to beat Surrak.
Also while I'm taking about the new cards here is the card people are excited for that was shown today.

Hello mtg thread. I rarely post in here, but I've been playing magic since 2012 and am an appreciator of old magic art. Today, I'd like to spotlight the cancelled artist Harold McNeill

Who is Harold McNeill?

Harold McNeill was a magic artist active from 1994-1997. Located in WA state he was one of the several local artists Wizards employed to help start their game and give it the unique look it had. His art can be described as Gothic, modern and somewhat abstract. It follows strict lines and contrasting colors, setting it apart from many magic works even at the time. Here are a few noteworthy examples:

Controversy

Harold also created this art, right around the start of his career with mtg, in 1994. leg-62-invoke-prejudice.jpg

Despite existing as a card by this point for 26 years, magic decided to ban this card along with 6 others in June 2020 , due to fear of them being perceived as racist. This caused many to dig to try and find any dirt they could on Harold, and they did. Soon they found percieved nazi art and personal anecdotes of his "hateful" ways.

What happened in June 2020 to make Wizards do this?
May 25th 2020 Saint George Floyd died. The riots started immediately.

Where is Harold now? What is he up to?
Unfortunately, several misfortunes have recently befallen upon Harold. He has lost most of his eyesight and is functionally blind. His beloved cat Tharsis (pictured) passed away at 18. He lives alone, still in WA. His art has been banned, his reputation slandered relentlessly. He is hoping to get some SS benefits which include Healthcare to get his eyesight working again so he can continue creating. I found his story deeply touching and I am asking for prayers for Harold so he may be protected from the evils the libtarded magic community wishes on him, especially as he is supposedly suicidal recently. I don't know if he's a nazi, but I know he seems kind. If you'd like to hear about his life facing abuse, cancelation, past life with the US navy, going blind and more check out this recent interview I enjoyed quite a bit.

Did they make her attractive because she is supposed to be underage?

Eshki's "standard" card art on the left there seems to be a part of their new "confusion graphics" trend.

Like this freaking card

I still can't tell you what's happening in either artwork. It's a visual mess that gives me a headache. I want to put it in a deck but it literally disgusts me.

Yeah temur is kind of a weird ask in standard, the only particularly strong thing to do in temur is shoving Loot under an Agatha's soul cauldron which doesn't seem that great a place for it. There are some RG aggro decks but they don't cast a lot of instant/sorceries worth mentioning and probably would lose more from splashing blue then they would gain from snapcaster. I guess if there's any simic ramp decks on the verge of being meta this is something that could convince them to splash red.

Problem in general is that Snappy plays well with instant speed control decks and WotC has kept Red and Green from getting anything remotely controlling for a long time. If this was aimed at standard it would be esper.

Reactions: Endless Torment
Can I just say I am so ready for Tarkir even despite the disney-ification of it after goddamn tron, stranger things, and cowboys? I need some fantasy dragons and shit in my fantasy dragons children's game. At least they finally killed off Alesha. Really hoping they don't fuck up Lorwyn when we finally get there since that's my favorite set of all time, but who are we kidding they probably will.

Regardless of politics I always loved this guy's art so it's sad to hear he's in such a dire state. Hope he can get out of this bad situation and continue on creating.

Good writeup.

Wasn't the reason why he had perceived nazi art because his parents were white supremacists and he wanted to mock it.

I have no idea what they were thinking when they printed this card

Fun fact I found while researching Harold. Invoke prejudice was listed on gatherer using universeid=1488 for awhile allegedly. No clue why they did that lol.

I believe it. I didn't find that personally but based on the interview I watched and some more info about his past alleged abuse his parents did and his theory most people aren't evil they're acting out traumas they've faced I believe it. I think he's a smart guy that's been villianized. In the interview he said they emailed him threats to kill his cat. You don't hate these people enough.
