I'm more of a casual One Piece fan, but even I know Yamato is the reason why the Straw Hats set out to liberate Wano in the first place. It's like Nami in Arlong Park. By seeing events from the perspective of a island's native, you can understand how terrible life is there and why the people in charge need to be dethroned.

Also, Yamato has another detail that makes him relevant to the story: Kaido, one of the main antagonists and an Emperor at that, is his father.

We only even find out about Yamato in the latter act after the big fight has started, it was the other locals they met that set them out to liberate Wano (specifically the ones they met back in punk hazard and zou. Wano is one of the few major arcs where the strawhats come in with full intent to kick the big bad's ass and free the place, usually they just stumble into it)

Yamato was included as a means to dump Oden's backstory on Momo so he can have his big character growth moments in response.

Reading recent post of this thread leaves me wondering why this man keeps an active online presence , almost every video essayist both left to right had spoken about how much of a piece of shit he is, he severely damaged his own voice acting career with his internet antics, his epithet erased proyect has been dead for years and yet he keeps acting like a total asshole in social media to the point that even in the hugbox that bluesky is the man somehow manages to incite discord

I like how Brendan had to shoehorn in that 30 trans kids personally came up to him to thank him. Like I don't know if this happened or not, but it shows how fucking vain and full of himself he is, and also he really needs to get over himself since he acts like everyone watches any of his videos other than Epithet Erased and This is Basically.

Pretty dick move to complain about an arc in bad faith too to invalidate a character you personally didn't like despite them playing an important role. Hell for all his posturing about how he is an ally to transpeople, what if a transperson identified themselves in Yamato, yet Jello sure likes to demean someone else's experience for the sake of feeling intellectually superior.

Even then One Piece is a lot about the journey so cutting the characters takes away a part of the journey, but of course Jello wished One Piece was this noir super spy thriller rather than the fun pirate manga.

1. Oda actually does take a few breaks from time to time even if they are not that long, he still does them.

2. Jello does not give a shit about Oda since he depicted Oda as a pedophile who'd sexualize his own daughters.

3. Jello acts like he's this hardcore fan whose read everything yet he sure as shit displayed a lot of shit poorly in his video like saying Robin got no fights for example. Not to mention, again bitching about how One Piece doesn't do more noir spy stuff.

I hate to take the side of a lolcow, but Sanji's just really obnoxious in Fishman Island - nosebleeding at all the pretty mermaids so hard it becomes a plot point, and getting Hell Memories because of how much he hated being on an island of drag queens. It probably would've been better if they only had the scene where he was petrified seeing Shirahoshi and him getting Geppou from wanting to escape the Newkamas.

Hard disagree, his Character is still the same except he bleeds a lot. Him waterfountaining into a mermaid’s chest, realizing drag queens donated their blood to him were fine. Brendan’s whining comes from “why is this shown at all?!”, rather than ”this didn’t work for me and is shown too much”.

To whom it may concern: Partitio isn't anti-capitalist in Octopath Traveler II. His entire storyline revolves around raising enough money to buy the patent rights to the steam engine from some greedy Scrooge-like character so that he can bring his small gold-rush era boomtown out of poverty. Partitio's entire goal, as he re-iterates throughout the game, is to use his wealth to eliminate "that devil called poverty" from the world. He's an example of an altruistic capitalist, who actually uses his wealth to help people, in direct contrast to the story's villain, who owns his own private steampunk island where all the residents are his "employees".

Sorry, I just wanted to set the record straight. I hate seeing leftist lunatics from Twitter consistently get this wrong, and I know that not a lot of people have played that game to know better.
