Female-aimed Trends That You Hate? - Sperg about recent trends you despise from media, make-up, social, etc

I don't know if this itself counts as a trend per se but it baffled me then and now, Bic for her

I believe they costed more than a regular Bic pen too.

I dislike this as well. You look at where it’s done well, because it can be done well, in a film like ‘alien.’ Ripley is strong, but she doesn’t physically beat the alien up, she has to use her brain. She doesn’t swan in and girl boss the mostly male crew, she asks where she can be useful loading missiles in the mech suit and is accepted as a useful member of the crew without antagonising people - she’s a competent, useful crew member and is accepted as such.

The Valkyrie thing only works with the sort of fantasy setting like superhero movies (which are also dross.) it’s just LAZY writing.
Another good example is Brienne from asoiaf/got. She's a strong woman who fights, but she's also freakish in appearance (which is what a female character would have to be in order to be that strong), and carries a whole bunch of emotional baggage that is explored throughout her character arc - how she's dealt with a lifetime of abuse and cruelty from both men and women due to her appearance, and how she repays rare kindness with fierce loyalty because of that. Her strength is part of her character. She's not puddle-deep, pornified strength.

People can’t write character any more, they write a person who is there to put their ideology across. nobody is writing characters and telling stories in media any more, it’s just self inserts, bitchy one liners, and ideology. It’s crap.
This is why I've pretty much entirely dropped out of much of modern media. Fiction without characters is BORING.

This same shit with Razorblades and Body Wash. Men get a 3 in one for 5 bucks at the most and then we have to pay 8 dollars for simple decent shampoo if we want to maintain a good regimen.

Another thing I dislike is how we are expected to be open and supportive to anyone in our space but then get demonized when we actively don't want to let trannies or alphabet fuckers in because they aren't women. Stop lumping us together.

How everything is an "aesthetic" now. It's so fake. How many of these aesthetics do these women even like when desperately trying to get more TikTok views? Trad wife feels fake to me most of the time. A real stay at home mom wouldn't have time to pose for the camera all day long. These bitches are just grifters.

Trad wife feels fake to me most of the time.
It's fake all of the time. All of it is a performance for whoever is paying attention to them and buying stuff from their affiliate links. It's basically a type of thot since a lot of them are very made up and wear clothing more revealing than a "real" "trad" woman would.

An actually socially conservative woman would never dress the way they do and a stay at home/housewife would be more concerned with efficiency and frugality with running the household than she would the heavily curated and bespoke stuff "trads" on TikTok labor over.

That actually makes sense as standard sizing was originally based on gendered body size averages. Rather you ought to be upset at how inconsistent sizing is in womenswear.
i am obscenely upset that i cannot just know the number i should wear and move on with my life. OCD person with a diagnosis, i hate the random ass sizing. sometime im a 16 sometimes in a 22, either way im feeling fat and lame that i cant just pick a few things off a rack and get on with my life.
Quoting these two together because they go with something I want to talk about much I hate the trend of literally correlating fags and trannies with women
with literally everything.
oh? you dont love the nu wurld ordur of the girls and the gays TM?

I hate what’s happening to the Morals and values of our gender.

The normalization of women being low class, immoral, garish and whorish.
The Acceptance of women being bad mothers and wives.
The dog piling on women who won’t be silent on the harm this is doing to our society and especially daughters and young women.

I don’t want to support trannies, worship movie stars, influencers and consumerism, glorify prostitution and just being a cheap degenerate whore in general. Bragging about “body counts”, playing the eternal victim and blaming men, especially muh white men, for all of their problems. Caring more about their follower count than their children and talking about their menstrual cycle, sex life and personal details in every space.

Are a large percentage of women even real anymore. Fake hair, fake boobs, fake eyelashes, fake lips, fake skinny (Ozempic or Coke), fake nails, fake personalities, fake life curated for social media, fake mental illnesses, fake victims, fake feminism.

They always need to be a strong, capable warriors and never get to have any traditionally feminine traits like in traditional fairy tales.
I hate literal 'strong women' - women in media who look like a Victoria's Secret model and swing a sword bigger than them while going go toe to toe with a man who's taller and more ripped than them, or fight as a soldier in a modern war. It's just so incredibly dumb on every level. It ignores the very real danger that women face in any conflict because 1. they are weaker by every metric on average and 2. rape. As far as I can see it's catered entirely to retarded manchildren with some weird mommy-dommy fetish. These characters also fill in the 'strong woman' niche, and I find actual strong women to be interesting characters. Historically, they've been soft power behemoths who used deft social navigation, family relations, espionage, and other means to leverage themselves into positions of power over men. Most of them didn't even sit on the throne, they just pulled the strings from behind the curtain. Think Sorghaghtani Beki, Julia Maesa, many Chinese Dowager Empresses, or the Valide Sultans. And most of them were older at the height of their power, so not one-dimensional sex kittens with a halberd or AK in a steel floss bikini.
"Noreturn you post that video too much." No I doooon't.

Looksmaxxing terms like "siren, bunny, deer". Where do they come up with this shit honestly.
The "Office Siren" trend had a mini-saga/drama

Other than that, I’m also tired of how it feels like basically every other female character has to be a girlboss who scoffs at the thought of wearing a dress.
Similarly, all that "not like the other girls" shit where they pretend it's not "not like the other girls" but it still is. Even in historic fantasy you get shit like "Oh she's going against the cultural norms of her time!" but in doing so they promote modern behaviors and values over the things that were useful, valuable, beautiful, and important from other time periods.

But I really hate "the pink job and blue job" trend.
Blue job/pink job is beyond retarded.
I had to look this up.

when I learned the "very demure, very mindful" meme was started by a tranny I went ohhhhh

Surprisingly, for my fellow face-blind-friends, this is a different person (Jools Lebron) than Gorlock (Al Weeezy).

The ‘girl dinner’ stuff I think is a symptom of us having gone insane over gender roles. When I was a kid they used to advertise Lego as just Lego. There was an advert with a girl with pigtails wearing brightly coloured corduroy and a sweater that would have done a boy as well and she’s holding a build and the caption is something like ‘it’s a housecastleship’ . The idea being that it’s just a toy for kids and it can be anything you want it to be. She is clearly a girl. She plays with Lego. Great!

One thing that I've been seeing on dating apps recently is an increasing amount of "I'm a passenger princess 💅" and that shit makes me nervous. Because I live on a city where you need to be able to drive, and I never know if Passenger Princess means "I can drive but I'd rather you did" or "I literally cannot drive you must take me everywhere". I can deal with the former, but the latter is a no go. And I can't help but feel like this is directly linked to this infantilization of women trend.
There's a gag in Venture Brothers when Dr. Girlfriend hotwires a car and makes Hank drive because she "doesn't drive men".
Also, yes, I know what some of you are thinking, and they tried to claim her, too.

There's a video online I watched a while ago, wish I could remember the creator -maybe the critical drinker?

Personally, my big fuck-off of the last decade is "Karens". Nothing has shown me more effectively how much misogyny in men from both the left and the right was just bubbling around waiting to explode than the sheer vindictiveness unleashed on "Karens" (this is okay because they are white women being racist, through complaining about bad service, or something, somehow) and TERFs (this is okay because they are targeting an oppressed minority!). Lives and careers have been ruined in the name of social justice, and you can't tell me it wasn't just because men, and some women, LOVE seeing uppity women being punished.
Someone once told me that "Karen" is one of the best psyops (accidental or not) because it silences the group that has historically been the most likely to care about things like quality, service, and standards. People love to tout out the whole "Women do most of the spending!" stat, but of course they do. Moms are the ones doing the grocery shopping for the family, buying supplies for the home, clothing for the husband and children. It's not "bitches be shopping". It's essentially the purchasing wing of a business, just on a small scale.
Of COURSE you want good service.
Of COURSE you want a good value for your money.
of COURSE it's ok to ask for a manager if someone is being incompetent or acting in a way that could get someone sick or hurt!
Now, though, if someone asks for something reasonable, even then there's a chance of a Karen accusation.

The normalization of women being low class, immoral, garish and whorish.

I too am fed up with razors, I recommend getting a safety razor and buying a bulk pack of razor blades for cheap. Merkur is the brand I use.(42C) You can get short or long handle ones for not too much, especially combined with how long buying a bulk pack of razor blades will last you. I'd also recommend getting a closed comb vs open.
Safety razors have saved me money and me skin.
I also have now realized I'm in The Salon  but I believe this would be helpful for the fairer sex. Apologies I'm not even really sure if lads are welcome round here.

I was thinking about how much I hate books for women on the way home from work today.
There was this series someone I know tried to get me into where she jokingly called it "fairy porn" and I just knew in my heart I wouldn't be able to read it.
There's romance slop and erotic slime, and then the rest of women's space in literature has been overwhelmed with <QUEER BOOK>

"girl dinner"
Correct me if I'm wrong (I don't use any social media so it's not like I have a timeline), but didn't "boydinner" originate first as a humorous term about the horrific "food" a man would make when unwilling to commit the time to making a proper meal?

I'm thinking images I know I've seen like a hot dog and a pickle spear floating in a bowl of cereal with the simple caption "BOYDINNER".
Free sample!

Unironically come to the shaving thread. Because ladies need cheap, high quality shaves too.

I've posted in there before about safety razors and while I agree, I'm not a lady, just a little lost. Thought this was Q&A being frank took me reading a bit and scrolling to see it's not. Think the Lent purple confused me combined with clicking through New Sperging :lossmanjack:
I stand by the Bic for her though that's fucking retarded

I really hate the makeup and skincare trend that's aimed at younger and younger girls. When I was growing up (late Millennial-early generation Z), I remember that some of the girls started wearing makeup in 6th or 7th grade. While that might have been early compared to 20-30 years earlier, nobody was talking about using anti-aging creams and I'm pretty sure nobody used it either.

Now, there are not only a lot of primary school aged/tween girls that spend hundreds of dollars on makeup every month, but a lot of them have convinced themselves that they need an advanced anti-aging skincare routine that also costs hundreds of dollars and involves fifty different steps or else they'll look old (le gasp) before they hit the age of 25. Of course what will happen is the opposite, i.e. a lot of zoomer and alpha girls will have shitty sandpaper skin by the age of 25 as a result of them paying for the degeneration of their largest organ.

Many media outlets seem to prefer to talk about "children using makeup" as opposed to "girls using makeup". That's bullshit. We're not seeing a pandemic of boys spending hundreds on Sephora products and anti-aging creams every month after being brainwashed by parasite influencers on Tiktok and Instagram. It's girls who are being psyopped into thinking they need to smear retinol on their faces every morning.

I hate how we can accept men "in media" who swing from building to building 150 feet in the air on web they shoot out of their wrist, and men who stop airplanes from crashing with their biceps, but if women "in media" hold a sword or fight in a war or *gasp* are stronger than a man(!!!) we feel the need to bitch about how it's unrealistic.

You know what grinds my gears? The constant makeup and skincare bullshit that I hear about despite very plainly NOT caring and NOT looking for said content. This new thing, the "morning shed," where you peel off the 50,000 things you applied to yourself to sleep in to keep your skin young or whatever, it's beyond parody! I'm admittedly gross and I never wash my face (sensory hell) but I don't have acne OR dry skin. Meanwhile these women out here pay a million dollars a month at Sephora and all these other high-end makeup retailers on things I swear are just assemblages of random makeup words like...idk "hyaluronic tinted bronzing sheets" or something, and they act like their skin is going to fall off if they don't literally inject liquid money into it. Of course, anyone not completely pozzed by the beauty industry knows that makeup causes skin problems because you're putting unnatural shit on your face 24/7. If you smeared your other organs with foreign tinctures they'd function a lot worse too.

I also hate those cutesy little acne stickers that look like stars. If you're using them to HIDE acne, you're retarded, because nobody wears stickers on their face above age 10 and nobody puts them on their chin, or next to their eyebrow, or has 3 in random-ass locations if they're only stickers. If you're using them to TREAT your acne, you're still retarded, because all you need to do to treat zits is LEAVE THEM ALONE and they go away on their own.

As far as specific makeup trends go; I hate the coomer-bait ones that make girls look like incel wet dreams. The "button nose" dot-on-the-nose, the over-blushing, fake freckles, the Delphine lip shape, like, god fucking damn it knock it off. You are enabling the worst type of man, and for what, so you can get approval from the worst type of man??? What the hell is wrong with you? Respect yourself for real, you stupid fucking butthole.

Something I'm angry about that's a little less unreasonable is the incredible prevalence of plastic surgery lately. Like, how in the absolute hell is everyone on Earth affording lip fillers and nose jobs and all this other shit? It used to be, at least I thought, that plastic surgery was for the wealthy and elite, now it's like average people on facebook are getting lip filler REGULARLY. Yeah, they're wasting money on TEMPORARY plastic surgery!! It's fucking bananas! Who can afford to just dump money on this!!! There was a female YouTuber I followed because she was funny and dunked on Mormons and I liked her content, but over time she started making content that referenced things I just didn't get. She posts one longer video and as I'm listening to it, turns out she not only has had work done, she has "her" plastic surgeon, one she goes to regularly, and in that moment it all clicked to me that oh, I don't relate to her content anymore because she's rich, she's making content that's only funny/relatable/understandable by rich people. I unfollowed immediately and I was so, so disappointed.

But seriously, in an economy so bad people can't afford fucking eggs, it's becoming a TREND to go get plastic surgery. Not even just one surgery, MULTIPLE procedures, temporary procedures that need to be done REGULARLY, and all in an effort to look like a fucking Kardashian. What the hell?? Am I just uniquely poor and/or fiscally responsible? What the fuck is going on??? I feel like I woke up in an alternate universe!!!

anyway makeup and skincare and plastic surgery can all go to hell. I'm ugly and I'm proud goddamn it.

There's a video online I watched a while ago, wish I could remember the creator -maybe the critical drinker? He points out how hollow the whole girlboss Hollywood trend is, pretending women are a physical match for men (personally I blame tranny culture for this, as we are all supposed to pretend there is no difference therefore trannies can compete with women cos muh gender feelz). The example he uses is Sarah Connor, who is a boss but uses her smarts to work her way through the world, escaping the mental hospital by holding a nurse hostage with a hypodermic needle in a much more realistic way than just beating up all the men. Smarts, skill, ingenuity, something that is realistic and the qualities are still admirable.
I'm probably doubleposting, forgive me (I have a bad habit of posting before reading the thread lol) but what I hate is when a movie or TV show has a female character who's a tomboy, or physically strong, or some other traditionally masculine trait, and people shit themselves online praising it because "omg this woman is doing man things but she's still pretty!!" Since fucking when has there EVER been a masculine female character who wasn't pretty?? Best example I can think of is Luisa from Encanto:

1743126870404.png

She's got super strength and has big fuckoff muscles as a result. She's built like a brick shithouse, which makes sense for her, but everyone foamed at the mouth like "omgggg big strong girl BUT SHE WEARS A DRESS!" Like there was ever going to be a chance she wouldn't wear a dress. Female characters get !!!ONE!!! masculine trait, and the rest of them has to be super feminine to compensate. There is NO butch female character in fucking ANYTHING ANYWHERE, I don't know what this expectation is that a masculine female character is gonna be ugly is based on, but it's not based in reality I can tell you that much.

"Yes and"-ing you, not disagreeing, but I'm also sick of "strong woman" as strong women. I think because a lot of writers don't know what strength looks like besides what men can do, they just pull the "women can do anything a man can do!" or make characters like Black Widow who are just so good at flipping around and shit that they can take down teams of men and break the laws of physics. If Black Widow had her canonical training and also some kind of superpower that allowed her to control her weight or density, or something like that, it could be more fun and feel less pander-y.

Even just exaggerated versions of normal female physical traits could be interesting superpowers:
  • Women are better at fighting off infection = Immune to all diseases
  • Women tend to be more durable = Defense hero, super-shield, etc.
  • Women outperform in low-intensity-steady-state exercise = Ms.Never-runs-out-of-stamina
  • Women are more flexible = Ok this one has been done but Plasticman and Mr. Incredible are dudes
  • Women see color better = Lady can see in ultraviolet and infrared
  • Lower center of gravity and better stability = Behold! The Immovable Woman!
  • Women have steadier hands = Sniping, surgery, etc.
Also, on that last one, can I just say guns are REALLY feminine weapons and should be embraced as such? Gun culture is very masculine, sure, but what is a gun? It's a great equalizer, but effective use requires maintenance and dedication, practice, self-control, and precision. That's all stuff that also aligns with being a proper lady.

There is NO butch female character in fucking ANYTHING ANYWHERE, I don't know what this expectation is that a masculine female character is gonna be ugly is based on, but it's not based in reality I can tell you that much.
Hey there's... Uh... I guess it depends on what you mean by butch. I looked up some lists and they seem to be stretching what a butch is.
