No, I know how Tariffs work. I also know that 94% of Alberta's crude goes to America for processing because Alberta has no other choice. I literally do not support the United States funding Israel and I have stated that at multiple times. Israel has a GDP of 550 billion, 3.5 billion in military aid is nothing.

Most Canadian provinces always vote one way, Liberal or Conservative with changes in voting marking major swings in political powers for the party in question.

So what ends up happening is that no matter which side wins in an election Quebec walks away richer and after decades of this Quebec enjoys the lions share of the Federal money and privileges. Every 4 year the Canadian politicians each race to see who can offer Quebec the most gibs and trip over each other in their haste and eagerness, meanwhile Quebec sits there laughing at the rest of Canada not even bothering to thank them for all the transfer money the Feds fork over.

Really Quebec is the smart one in Canada, they game the system to their advantage and profit every 4 years while the rest of Canada gets poorer and poorer as the money really only flows one way. I'm not entirely sure. I know that Canadian provinces actually have different conditions if they want to join, so it may be easier for them. It's why we can't divide California into saner blocks, like cutting off the insane coastal counties, and why Greater Idaho won't happen, those do need a 2/3s majority to approve it.
