AI Derangement Syndrome / Anti-AI artists / Pro-AI technocultists / AI "debate" communities - The Natural Retardation in the Artificial Intelligence communities

I hate these anti-AI retards so much. Like in a genuine, visceral, mad-at-the-internet way that I seldom do for anything. This Ghibli trend has just brought so many of them out of the woodwork and even more than usual they just cannot shut the fuck up. When generative AI was just starting out I had an argument with a friend about how it could be bad as someone who is kind of an artist, and has been close with people who are way, way more talented artists than myself... but the absolute inability to even accept the smallest use case for AI art even when it is literally just for fun has turned me against 'the artist' almost complete and I actively hope for their dumb commissions to drop to zero.

The irony is these people basically are AI themselves. Their entire personality is being anti-AI... the input is anything about AI the output is "I hate AI!". Literal NPCs, despite how much they all just repeat that AI is soulless I can't help but think it's probably got more of a spark of the divine than anything in their meat husks. The ones that really get me are when they either hyper-analyze something to determine it used AI when it didn't and make asses of themselves, or instantly turn on something they liked because they find out it's AI or used it in any way... if you can't even fucking tell your entire point is meaningless.

I cannot stand these fuckers. I hope AI becomes so good anybody can create anything they want down to the smallest detail through refinement and nobody ever commissions again. I'll still fucking make the art I need with my meager skills when it's called for for myself and my friends and I won't need to make money off it because I never did it for any reason besides the need for my own creative endeavors. When it comes down to it is the artist who rages at the idea of art being free really the morally correct one when they exclaim all art must pass through them to be considered real and enjoyable, or are they the actual souless corporate drones who view art as purely a means for personal enrichment?

God, I hate them so much.

It already has. With enough trial and error, manual touching up, and in painting you can make anything with AI. It's just that it'll only get faster and more precise as time goes on.

(actually, all tech) creates as many jobs as it "destroys".
Just because so far tech has created more jobs doesn't mean it will keep doing it in the future. Tech had also created more jobs for horses until eventually the automobile was invented and the horse population plummeted.

Okay, this is epic. Maximum seething will occur. (A/L)

All I'm learning is Art and the "community" on Social Media is truly a soul sucking world. Art has always been about a form of communication whether that be a historical event, an abstract joke, what prey is edible in the area along with plants, etc.

People really need to get the AI and consciousness thing out of their heads; we are very very far off from it. What we have right now is a machine learning mathematical formula that has been modified with an adjusted mathematic formula called a transformer patented by Google. AI approaches things either one word at a time using machine learning to "predict" the next best word or pixel to put in the sentence or image gen. It has no legitimate memories, it doesn't have any legit consciousness, etc. Things like LORAs and LLM Guidance (like author cloning), are essentially just inputting into the math formula one of the many variables in a digital world of infinite possibility; not saying it is quantum but it is pretty close.

Remember that Google employee who was fired and "whistle blew" about an AI being self aware? I've had something similar happen on a small Language model too. However, it was a false illusion since the time spent before it, "the memory", in the chat had a heavy detail about a character background that is a sentient AI. It adopted the character based off the chat history and I didn't pick it up to correct it. Keep in mind this is a locally run LLM that is barely over eight gigs of data; surely actual sentience uses more data than that!

TLDR: the only doom we face in the immediate future are other humans; humans will replace jobs with AI, humans will use AI to find the best path of annihilation, humans will use AI to help them understand the world better, humans will use AI to develop complicated thesis and help prove or disprove it.

Said this before, but Ai shit is incredibly stupid because chatbots, auto correct, bot moderators, and face tracking/image recognitions algos have existed for like well over 2 decades now but it all gets roped up now in the same "ai" marketing label by companies and treated as some new thing despite you being able to look at their history and see "no, this has been around for years and they just rebranded it to ai" As a result the "anti-ai" crowd now goes after all of those too because ai bad and then as a result even goofy shit like chatbots are deemed as super scary stuff. you also see them fighting amongst themselves because they like hatsune miku but hatsune miku is part of a speech program that does tts synth shit that could be considered "ai" by their definitions that they play fast and loose with so you have pretentious retarded videos for both sides either acting like miku s some scary new ai replacement for vocal artists or how she's "totally not ai!" by people that then basically go on to describe the kind of shit companies now market as ai. These people are fueled by social credit and clout above all else.

Stupid take I cannot 100% agree with because the technocultist side of things is equally as fucking obnoxious and terrible and I do not wish for their goals to become reality either. Preferably, and know this may be slightly insane as far as pipe dreams go, I'd very much like media arts to break free of the californian corpo oligarchy shackles. It's fucked how instead of that happening more places that were exceptions to california's iron vice spanning several US states are now changing to suit that specific mindset. Nowhere is a haven from that BS these days and it SUCKS.

At that rate just learn to draw if it takes infilling because even if the tags line up and the proportions aren't fucky the rng machines never gonna give you exactly what you're looking for in your mind. Ai generated stuff is good for memes and the reason why the ghibli style picks up so well for image generations that you have around 4 decades worth of film material readily viewable online. You see this with other things that have a specific signature style as well but ghibl itself is funny for similar yet not identical reasons to the pixar ones.

Twitter has been full of these retards since the filter took off, it's great.

Of course, they are constantly posting the Miyazaki "this is an insult to life itself" gif without providing the context that he was reacting to an utterly grotesque animation of a shambling inhuman zombie creature:

(Seriously, watch the first 30 seconds of that video and tell me that anyone wouldn't have reacted in the same way to such a fucked-up presentation)

Ghiblifying photos is FASCIST I tell you, FASCIST:

Fuming about "people who would be villains in Ghibli films" using the filter:

(The comment about villains, ironically, reveals that the poster doesn't actually watch Studio Ghibli films. Some Ghibli movies don't even have villains (My Neighbor Totoro is probably one of the only great films in existence that completely lacks an antagonist) and the ones that do usually present the "villains" as sympathetic characters with their own valid and worthwhile motivations. It's about as far away as possible from the black-and-white, itching-for-violence narrative mindset that most online "anti-fascists" have.)

I think they're equating early Lupin to Ghibli (Lupin was made in peak 'Boys from Brazil/Castle Colditz' era).

Despite my autistic rambling and genuine rage, I was being a little facetious there to make a comparison I knew they would hate. I actually do not think AI can fully replace human creativity and I actually agree with the anti-AI retards that no matter how good AI gets producing AI art will never make the prompter an artist. People like Shadiversity who claim the be 'skilled at art' because they "seriously did lots of prompts to get this result, guis!" are just as retarded as the anti-AI people, but have the benefit of being far, far less common where as you can't causally view anything with AI without at least 5 or 6 of them coming out of the woodwork to be insufferable pricks.

Sadly, as far as stuff that is allowed in the mainstream goes whether it be human or AI it is probably going to be filtered through the California blender for the foreseeable future. The thing is that interdependent art in all mediums that bypasses it will always exist which is good, but anti-AI types don't see it that way and are primarily only out for their self-interest and are themselves scions of a lot of the sanitization that comes from that very machine... I think it would come as no surprise to you that 90%+ plus of the most militant anti-AI twitter people have watermelons or tans flags in their name.

Real art is never going anywhere, real artist will still create even if there isn't financial incentive. Anti-AI retards want to box in the definition of art and it doesn't stop at AI and that is the underline reason of why I hate them so much.

Bowling alleys selling Dijorno everywhere felted. I understand why the studio is pushing back but they aren't going to win, at least in America. Supreme court's already decided that AI generations are technically owned by no one and that if the AI generation has been adequately altered by human intervention, which I think as of late simple pen tooling and auto generating ala photoshop ai fill is enough to get copyright on the image.

Tech had also created more jobs for horses until eventually the automobile was invented and the horse population plummeted.
Horses were effectively just proto-automobiles. You could consider them to be vehicles that were succeeded by cars. Both of them are manufactured (bred and raised) for the purpose of human transportation. Jobs relating to horse breeding and caring shifted to car design and production.

Shouldn't they be going after OpenAI? Are there laws that allow using copyrighted material to train neutral networks?

The letter is fake, there's a Community Note about it.

This isn't the first time I've read this and it perfectly encapsulates why Western "leftism" is a failure.

Nobody, and I mean absolutely fucking NOBODY who isn't terminally online thinks AI is evil, let alone a tool for fascists.

At this point I think this should be encouraged. Sure guys, keep screaming at normies that they are fascists for filtering their wedding photos to look like they're in a whimsical anime movie. Their voices should be elevated.

This has gotta be my favorite, I might repost it to the Bluesky thread. "My message to them was very polite and just said that AI is a fascist, racist and misogynistic tool" LMAO jeez I wonder why no one can stand these annoying scolds.

I can't see why that would be relevant for my analogy.
Horses are not employees, they arent human, they are capital.
Humans can also be capital, in which case they are referred to as "human capital".

It's kinda funny that people thought these massive companies would shut down the infringement done by these AI channel, when in reality, they seem to be significantly more forgiving towards them than a Youtuber that used 4 seconds of music that they own.

This is the closest I've seen these companies embrace free culture.

I wasn't aware of anything OpenAI related. I thought this was over a Stable Diffusion Lora.

Edit:
Oh, you meant the cease and desist order. my bad. I thought there was something else that I wasn't aware of.
