I haven't been to Joeyray's stream for some time, but this might not be about ongoing unpaid work for any studio at all.
I don't know if it is about his game maker project from the stream or something else. But it might just be a community-driven small game maker game and a single piece of concept art that you can submit if you want to be part of it.

That post might just be what Jason and Khronos made of it in their infinite wisdom and even that doesn't sound like "submit a concept and then get choosen to work 40h/week unpaid for a new studio".

Is it all true? I don't know his dad, and I didn't look much into him, but I guess there is a non-zero chance that he is a useless grifter good at abusing corporate structure just like his son. Keep in mind, that Mald was raised by him, and I guess many of his toxic traits were enabled by his father. Worst of all... Joeyray named him "Thor".

I can't really find anything of notice in his career post-blizzard, other than some kickstarter crap.

I won't give him a benefit of doubt, and I'll assume he is a grifter mentor to his grifter nepo son in a grifter dynasty, unless proven otherwise.

People want to volunteer to help with my games and I feel bad cuz I dont want free labor for some peoples I would say amazing work. Im working on a Chud Logic game and the community wants to help out and I gate keep cuz I want people to be compensated somehow. That said if I were better off from streaming or shit even my day job I wouldnt mind paying out. If you're good at something dont do it for free, although if your building off of their community and brand that could be a different kind of pay lol PAID IN CLOUT

apparently this is some sort of game art jam thing. im not sure how to feel about this in terms of certainty. it boils down him using the art without permission and not paying the artists in the future
