The majority of Finns probably dislike Trump and his politics. That doesn't mean that they think Finland shouldn't try to engage with him, and try to maintain good relations.
Many barely know their own history and it becomes even more comical with regards to Ukraine and the concept of buffer zones and neutral territories.
Finland joined NATO like two years ago. Finland was prepared to defend itself against Russia without the help of America for the last 70ish years.
When people whine about empire, they forget the negative things that empires have eliminated. For example, the British Empire virtually eliminated the international slave trade, and the US empire has almost entirely eliminated piracy.
