The Windows OS Thread - Formerly THE OS for gamers and normies, now sadly ruined by Pajeets

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I just switched to triple monitors, and a really cool bug showed up where my mouse just disappears completely when coming back from sleep. I have to re-sleep the machine and bring it back, and I get the mouse back. Good thing they fired all that QA.

Microsoft is completely removing the bypassnro script. If you don't know, this is the main script everyone uses to skip setting up a Microsoft account to use Windows 11. Some users are pointing out that you can still use the net command to manually add a user and add it to the administrators group but we'll see how long that lasts. You can also apparently just add the registry key manually during install (lol lmao the absolute state of Wangblows in 2025).

Microsoft is not going to be satisfied until (You) make a Microsoft account and sign in with it on startup
I'm a complete normie so I just made a account on startup. I guess everyone else can shit bricks or whatever. At least I'm still straight and not trooning out on Linux.

When I installed Windows LTSC on my server in a VM, when it demanded an enterprise account I had entered my personal email then it told me to make a local only account. I haven't experimented with that but I suspect of you enter any @outlook.com email address it'll let you create a local account without linking it.

I just did a Win11 setup in a VM to check if MS has killed off the local account. I selected the Pro version, and when the OOBE screen showed up, I went "Configure for business use > Login options > Join domain instead" and I was able to make a local account. Then it threw me onto the Win11 desktop.

This is a big issue with all of this. You still have the option to make a local account with Win11. Microsoft gives it to you. The catch is:
1) They give you this ability in all Win11 editions except Home. Home was, and still is MS account only. For some reason people go for Home even if they don't have, or aren't planning to buy a Windows license. When you download the ISO from Microsoft you can either install Home or Pro, it's a single choice that costs nothing, and makes a major difference.
2) This ability is cleverly hidden away and purposefully plays with your mind. The first thing you're faced with in OOBE is "set up for home use" and "set up for business use". Which one will be that you'll think to click first? Yeah, the one that lets you only make a MS account. You'd never associate "business use" with "I want a local account for home use". And even then, when you see "Login options", what do you think it opens? Yeah, MS Account recovery options, I have to use it. Except at this click you'd have the ability to make the local account.

Barely anyone seems to be aware of this, so most people believe that you HAVE to use an MS account with Win11 NO MATTER WHAT, then they spread articles like this where this myth is kept alive instead of clarifying how it actually is. This is perfect for Microsoft, since that means they'll be able to silently remove the local account option later down the line and no one but the few that knew this was an option will be affected, and Microsoft will get their way. They'll do the whole song and dance of "well our telemetry has shown that barely anyone was using it so we just removed it" excuse.

This is the big issue with all retards sperging out about Win11. They give Microsoft TOO MUCH credit as for how badly they fucked it up, which just gives them leeway to fuck it up more in the future.

Just make sure you pirate procure the Pro or Enterprise version and tell it you want to join a domain. Then don't join a domain,

Mate, just use Linux Mint and uninstall Firefox + Mintchat. There saved you a few hours worth of headaches.
>everyone's use case is being a nigger cattle that only uses a web browser so just install Mint lmfao
This is why Linux will forever remain a minority OS, and no matter how bad Windows gets, people will have to use it. If only the Linux community finally made up their mind if they want to compete with Windows, or they don't want to be anything like Windows. It's one way or the other.

Also, shilling for Linux in the Windows thread again. I shiggy diggy.

I understand removing Firefox but why Mintchat? It's still useful as the community help line for support that is vastly superior to Microsoft Answers

Its apparently the reason why I couldn't uninstall the fucking thing, Mintchat was a prerequisite for Firefox.

As for Win10, I have a work laptop but it is prone to crashes lately. Even in stability MS can't do shit, especially in laptops.

This isn't even the fault of the user most of the time. If you're buying a new computer from someplace like BestBuy or MicroCenter, or even Walmart if your desperate, they all have the Home version as the default OS version, so it's not like they have a say on the matter.

No I mean when they install Windows despite the MS ISO giving you the option to install Pro, they still go for Home. I'm not even thinking about preinstalled Windows since people who get these barely even know how to use a computer in the first place. But when you're tech savvy enough to be able to create a bootable USB and install Windows from scratch, and you're not gonna pay for a license, why would you go for Home?

There will never be a Year of the Linux Desktop as long as the supreme autists that are Linux / Distro developers can't even decide on a universal way to install shit (even through their dearest terminal) when Windows has had .exe for three decades.

"I would like to install Nigger Blaster 9000."
"We have various installation flavors including DPKG, Flatpak, Pacman, RPM, Snap, and more. We also have additional toppings such as APT, DNF-"
"What the fuck are you talking about."

Enjoy MacOS.
No. I will enjoy Windows. The straightest operating system on the planet. It's not branded with that stupid gay apple from that gay Turing sodomite, and it's not troonix. It's coded by only the horniest of pajeets wanting Bob's and vagine. It won't turn you gay like the other two.

I'm ok with all of these except flatpak.

In practice 98% of linux retards use dpkg/apt and just forget about it.
