Boomers still believe in the infallibility and credibility of institutions like media, academia, legal system. Basically if the television hates Trump that must mean he's bad.
Silent Generation as well. They will not believe a word you say unless they see it on the TV, or it's in a movie supposedly "based on a true story". Like it's puzzling that people can be this naive when you really don't think that way about old people when describing them at first. Like nothing you can tell them is true unless the TV says so. To add insult to injury lots of these people have FDR nostalgia and get very irate when you remotely speak out against him in any way.

Sesame Street has been shit ever since Baby Bear started causing kids to affect a speech impediment, so 1990? 91?
Pull the plug already.
Sesame Street has been shit since Elmo was introduced. The only real OGs are Big Bird, Grover, Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie and a few others. Elmo took that shit over and he didn't earn his place.

Why? They were infamously corrupt
American private unions are just as corrupt. At least with a national union you can have the government officially moderate disputes between capital owners and labor. The hope is to have compromises that make both parties upset. If labor is too happy then the economy isn't competitive. The country will lag behind others. If things get really bad in this direction, people don't have any incentive to work. They'd sleep at their work stations, or not show up at all. If capital is too happy families can't make enough, and you face birthrate collapse.

You also don't have to worry about foreign influence as much.

I see Mussolini's thoughts are being kept alive.

I strongly suggest doing more research on this since they held the country back so much. Imagine if the Teamsters were able to shut down a country

this is the single busiest thread on the site, but the chat we had for politisperging was never used. why is that?
I got bullied in sneed chat for having too many posts for such a new account. It's because I didn't find sneed chat until later, but one of the first things I did find was the beginning of USPG2. Sometimes when someone posts a stream of something like a press conference the thread would basically turn into a live chat, perhaps a little bit slower and slightly higher-content messages. When events slowed down, you'd get little threads of people talking about stuff like Byzantine history, or recent Ukrainian history; the Ukraine stuff got swept, the Byzantine stuff didn't.

So the thread is acting like a slow-moving, politics-themed genchat with a few specific topic bans. Which is very comfy and a nice experience while you're keeping up with it, probably better than an actual chat. It's just a shame that it makes the thread completely fucking unusable in retrospect. Sometime during the second week of his presidency, Trump said he would be talking about the 2020 election the following Monday, specifically about Georgia. He didn't follow up on this, and I wanted to find the original statement, probably on Truth. Google was absolutely no help. I know that it was posted in this thread because that's where I saw it, it's probably even archived, but I'd have to comb through dozens of pages to find it, and I didn't feel like putting in the work.

I don't know that this thread is wrong or needs fixing; it's not perfect, but it's a special kind of thing created from a unique confluence of events and technology that wasn't quite intended for the usage. Case in point, I've seen people talking about optimizing your post number mod 20 to increase the odds people read your shit when there's too many pages to keep up with and they start skipping through. It was a unique experience the first few weeks, I've completely given up trying to keep up and just dip in randomly. More advanced thread search tools might help make the thousands of pages any sort of useful archive. I also wonder whether we're even going to make it to midterms before the thread starts bugging out and needs to be split for technical reasons.

Shouts out to spiritofamermaid who reads absolutely every post; when you see this one, do me a favor and give me a big tasty puzzle piece.

Any recommended reading material? English plz. Also Israel has the highest birthrate in OECD at 2.9 births per woman.

That's because of haredim who don't work much and have 8 kids per family. The secular birthright is very high too but they're being outnumbered. Arab Israeli fertility is going down due to Arab women being better educated than before.

So what you're saying is to solve the the global fertility crisis we just need women to go back to being illiterate? Sounds like a good solution, outside of Frankenstein they never wrote much worth a shit anyways.
