I'm Canadian. I've been a staunch NDP voter my entire voting life because my MLA does good for my community/town and I like their policies. However, this election I'm torn. I don't want to vote NDP because they're retarded, and I don't want to vote Liberal because I'm not retarded.
I've been doing a lot of research about PP and I just really don't know. A really close friend of mine has been suckling on PP's pp, spouting off about how he's going to "fix" Canada, how he's going to make it so we can buy houses and get the gangs/guns/junkies/drugs off the street, how he's going to fix everything Trudeau ruined. I think my friend isn't looking at things objectively. PP is a career politician who has only managed to get one bill passed in his entire career. All PP does is say "axe the tax" or some other catchy slogan. I don't know, he rubs me the wrong way and I don't entirely trust him to lead our country out of the abysmal shit hole Trudeau dug us into. The Conservatives have historically been all about helping big business and not the little guys. I read the entire Conservative platform, and I like what it has to say.
But, it seems like voting anything but Conservative this election would be me throwing my vote away.
I live near a large city with a temperate climate year-round so it's homeless central. The down town core is a shell of its former self. Businesses are dying, staples/gems of the community are closing their doors because of lasting consequences due to the pandemic on top of the homeless/junkie crisis and greedy landlords. I want my city back. I'm tired of stepping on human shit in the street and walking past people zoinked out of their minds on fentanyl.
Can someone more versed in PP man tell me why he's the best choice?
PP is cutting economic migration to 250,000, that's literally the only reason I'm voting for the Conservatives.
I'm just going to be straight up with y'all though like we have nothing like the America First/MAGA movement in the USA. The movement of young men infiltrating the Conservative Party establishment and shifting it politically further to the right is nonexistent.
We don't even have anything comparable to the AfD in Germany, or the FN in France. Of course you could say we have Bernier but he's gained basically zero traction. Does Bernier even have a successor? The rise of the FN in France was a decades long process that went from father to daughter, and next with a young and competent successor. Bernier as far as I'm concerned doesn't seem to be ushering a talented successor to continue the PPC.
I would also like to say that the America First/MAGA was greatly helped by former mainstream figures pushing it, the most obvious being Trump, but even former mainstream journalists and political pundits.
Who do we have? No one!
We're also massively hurt by our mass immigration policies, Third World non-Whites aren't going to be pushing for right-wing policies.
To be frank shifting the Conservatives further right requires young White men and that's a dying breed in Canada. A further right-wing shift is just not going to happen with Blacks and Browns at the helm. A Pajeet with a turban or worshipping cows isn't going to galvanize the Christian and European vote. Look at our political landscape, we have no one.
If you really want to know the truth about MAGA/America First, it's basically to stop the hemorrhaging of White and Christian America. It's understood that a right-wing Western movement cannot exist with a majority non-White population.
That has to be repeated, a right-wing Western movement cannot exist with a majority non-White population. That's just plain fact.
Canada has not even arrived at this conclusion, the Canadian right-wing is still stuck with multiculturalism. Canada is hemorrhaging faster than America and we have no one.
