is anyone else noticing that super credits show up less frequently than they used to?

Feels like bunkers rarely have them anymore.
seems fine to me, i ground out like 600 sc in a little over two or three hours. definately had runs with 50+SC. and i am fine if bunkers have less sc makes it easier to grind solo.

you forgot cutting edge, back in the early days it seemed like the sickle was the default primary weapon for all the people using it. how does it stack up?

Most of these seem like downgrades. For example, extra padding already reduces headshot damage because increased armor rating exponentially decreases the severity of headshots until they cease to deal any extra damage to you. To be honest I always thought the elemental resistance armors should be a full immunity. Immunity to gas procs, immunity to fire procs, immunity to arc damage. Immunity to gas is already in the game with the vitality booster and heavy gas armor, immunity to fire would just mean you can safely walk through fire patches without being lit on fire and taking damage over time- the direct damage from incendiary weapons would still apply. And immunity to arc damage would make an entirely useless armor set ever so slightly less entirely useless.

I've been using flame resistant armour with the double edge sickle and it's insane. You basically take no damage when it starts to overheat and you cut through almost everything, then I just use an EAT on whatever I can't laser. Plus the flame resistance is useful against the flame tornadoes where I've been fighting.

Unrelated, but has anyone dropped a few frames since this last update or is it just me?

Definitely democratic detonation. Crossbow, grenade pistol and thermite grenade are all S tier.

So what is the current ranking of the most useful warbonds to get? I've already got Cutting Edge and should probably expanding and get one or two more (I have the credits).

I have all of them, here's the order I would buy them with the game in its current state (and why):
  1. Democratic Detonation - crossbow, grenade pistol, thermite grenade. Crossbow is the best primary, and its not even close - it wipes out chaff with ease. The Crossbow and Grenade pistol are also amazing utilities for nests/factories/ufos and to open containers. Thermite grenade slaughters chargers and bot heavies. A good throw will get bile titans too, Aim for the head.
  2. Cutting Edge - Everything, really. Sickle, dagger, blitzer, plasma punisher, and stun grenade (really good on bots w/ laser cannon or railgun)
  3. Freedoms Flame - Flamethrowers, fire resistant armor, cookout. Less useful if you dont play bugs a lot, but the armor is great for fighting on fire tornado planets or against incineration corps. Combines well with the hover pack on bugs/illuminate
  4. Polar Patriots - plasma purifier, verdict, tenderizer are all very good guns, but they all sucked balls when it launched. The bad rap is out of date.
  5. Servants of Freedom - Double edge sickle, ultimatum, portable hellbomb. Ultimatum is the panzerfaust looking secondary that can kill most heavies and even blow up bot jammers. Be careful it has low range.
  6. Borderline Justice - Talon, hover pack, deadeye (if you like marksman rifles)
  7. Urban Legends - AT Emplacement is godlike on fort defense missions and generally very good. not much else here though
  8. Steeled Veterans - Fire breaker, fire grenade, servo assisted armors, senator - used to be way better last year during the termicide tower arc when every primary sucked but the fire breaker.
  9. Truth Enforcers - Loyalist (plasma purifier pistol)
  10. Chemical Agents - gas grenades are good for bugs/illuminate, healing pistol (if you care)
  11. Viper Commandos - Experimental infusion (piss stims), everything else is borderline useless

One thing that I found confusing or entertaining about the universe of Helldivers is that Arrowhead tries their hardest to make Helldivers seems like incompetent, disposable retards when in "reality" Helldivers kill like a thousand aliens before dying and being replaced.
Just like when Paul Verhoeven made Starship Troopers to be a parody of Fascism, but because he understood neither Starship Troopers or Fascism, and ended up proving Heinlein's points that made it into the movie. Turboliberals and leftists often try to mock the various forms of right-wingery but due to their refusal to understand right wing ideas the shitlibs fail and end up making right wing stufflook cool or proving the right's rhetoric points. If you're curious about the Starship Troopers thing, Sargon did a pretty good video about it a few years back. Yes he's a retard, but he's at least capable of writing good material once in a while.

A few weeks ago Pilestedt called the playerbase brainwashed fascists because the player base bought into the kayfabe ("oh no the players are having fun getting immersed in our game! NAZIS! NAZIS! NAZIS! Quick call the UN!"), but what he didnt think about was given the choice between total annihilation at the hands of skull robots that build people blenders, giant feral insects and evil aliens that turn people into zombies or a somewhat authoritarian technocratic government that's clearly a parody of the rhetoric of the Bush administration, everyone unironically supports Super Earth and for good reason. When he said something to the effect of "when everyone is wearing the same uniform and doing salutes all the time, that's Fascism" he made a complete ass of himself because he's clearly never heard of nearly every organized military in recorded history.

In short, they're retards who got lucky because the western gaming industry is a smoldering crater at this point and their game scratched a really big itch. They nearly flushed the whole thing down the toilet like 4 times now, with the Snoy shit, nerfapalooza, their SJW community mods shitting all over their discord and reddit, and their game's code being held together by caffeine and sheer force of will. Eventually they will successfully shoot their foot off permanently, its only a matter of time. I suspect Helldivers 3 will be nowhere near as fun because the devs will be compelled to spite their paying customers for being even a tiny bit right wing. They won't be able to catch lightning in a bottle a second time. At this point Arrowhead has the money I dropped on it at the outset so i might as well enjoy it while it lasts ( bought the super citizen bundle before the PSN debacle), but I'm not giving them another penny.

Pardon the PC gamer link but it is the original source. Pilestedt agreed with the content of the article but criticized the headline on twitter. I’m not saying to stop playing the game, I know I won’t because they already have my money, but maybe don’t buy any more super shekels. I won’t be. Your call though, I’m not the boss of you.

It probably will be because the devs accidently luck into a really fun game flow. See originally the Devs WANTED to make a game where you struggling against the horde as faceless bodies to the grinder. What they accidently made was a game where you're laying waste to the Enemies of Freedom (EoF) with high power explosives and nearly unlimited ammo. Every one hates dying to random bullshit but no gamer minds going out in a blaze of glory as long as they take as many EOF's with them. Hell even when there is the chance of dying/failure there is a equal chance of pulling off some amazing bullshit.

You can see that in that first couple of updates where they nerfed a bunch of fun stuff. It wasn't until they replaced the CEO with a Indian to basically go "SAAR WE NEED TO MAKE MONEY GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT SAAR" did Arrowhead turn it around.

I will say through the engine Dev's Arrowhead has are top notch. Taking a dead/dying engine and creating a game that good looking (and not just more Unreal slop) really sets HellDrivers2 apart.

This is why I dont get excited about losing planets in the campaign. The system is totally opaque and intentionally unexplained to the player and the devs can and will railroad the desired result. Not that I mind an additional challenge, but 3 reinforcements? That is almost a guaranteed wipe on level 10s
That modifier had already dropped off by the time I logged on this morning. I think more than anything Joel wanted to narrate some big anniversary battle on Malevelon Creek into existence and he's getting increasingly frustrated that divers are stalling him, but it's also setting up so that if Popli falls we're gonna have one hell of a cinematic battle for the Creek.

They’re trying to make a big event. Let the game master do his thing, because it’s more fun that way. That being said, Joel routinely underestimates the player base.
