Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

Right now FoxNews!
On Red Eye they're making fun of her moon rock tweets!

The image they're using is her holding the Barbie in front of her dusty anime toy collection!
It's glorious!

Caught the tail end of a segment being livestreamed where they were laughing about the term "mansplaining". So seems legit. Am watching both the website and YouTube for the video archive

Wu's segment is first. I wasn't paying attention until I saw her. But Wu, followed by something about Alec Baldwin, and then something about a New Yorker cartoon and mansplaining.

Can't wait till Flynt/Wu asks his Twitter followers if any of them know someone who works at Fox News. Corrections and clarifications are called for. Context has to be explained. Heads must roll.

The reeeeeeeeeeing will be epic.

Checked out #RedEye on Twitter. Was not disappointed.

Lot of similarities between Wu and Trump, which gives me even more pause that she might have a chance. Crazy times we live in.
The main difference being that Trump can pull crap like that and the resulting firestorm over what he said either rolls off or makes him stronger, somehow. If Wu is actually trying to pull a Trump campaign copycat he is going to learn really quickly how un-Trump he actually is.

John's basically the perfect form of anti-charisma and he's incapable of uttering statements (planned or otherwise) for which the resulting "BUT ACTUALLY"s actually help him. If you can't do either of those things trying to make the circus that defined much of the Trump campaign work for you is going to blow up in your face with the force of 1000 moonrocks.

...Also it doesn't help that Wu is very much riding the opposite cultural wave that Trump rode in on. Without the counter culture right wing wave that Trump rode, he's probably looking at a repeat of 2012. John's aligned himself with far left IdPol (at least notionally) which is neither counter culture, nor particularly a wave that alone can catapult you to an elected position.

But boy howdy if Wu is intentionally trying to pull a Trump, buckle up. That's the best of all possible outcomes for us. :woo:

Honestly, I don't think Wu is running a scam. Well, not entirely. Any other cow, maybe I'd say it was just a scam, and I do think John is definitely looking forward to reaping the financial side of things...but I also fully believe he thinks he can win. John is one of the most delusional cows out there. Just look at his past history. Hell, look at his most recent moon rock fearing history. If he's delusional enough to think that rich corporations are going to drop rocks from the moon to destroy the world, he's delusional enough to think he can win. I mean, he's been delusional enough this whole time to think that he is a woman and a tech engineer/political journalist/expert car mechanic/nerf gun expert/whatever the hell else he's declared himself an expert at.

I think the money thing is just him honestly thinking that he deserves the money cause gamergate or some insane nonsense. If it wasn't politics, he'd still be raising funds for whatever his next venture is, and once he fails at this, he'll start begging for his next big project that he legitimately thinks will actually succeed. Maybe building moon bases or something.

No, Congressman Flynt isn't conman. At least not in the traditional sense. He has full faith his projects will succeed. It's just he's a complete and utter failure and is only propped up by his privileged life as a rich white male.
John Flynt is his own worst example of the privileged white male getting everything because of his birth rather than because of talent, skill or hard work.

Ha ha, great work, John! A female starship "captian" was undoubtedly the pinnacle achievement of Western civilisation!

The only possible reason for why Berman did this lies in the various death and bomb threats that were sent to the Voyager production offices at Paramount Studios over the decision to have a woman in command of a starship.

Another great week of hitting the campaign trail HARD! (i.e. erect because John has a penis)
I don't think Wu was paying attention to the movie (shocking, I know): Gabrielle was neither Lara's mother nor a scientist.
Lara's mother was a random Mexican girl grab off the street because 'no one would miss her.'
Gabrielle was one of the nurses working at the lab where the children were born and raised.

F-
See me after class, Wu.

Wu has the Trump ego, but not the success or people skills to make people willing to put up with the ego.

Oh no, I can't believe that President Trump tweeted out something provocative! He has never done this before and is clearly compromised!

Weren't you supposed to put out a campaign logo on Monday, John?

My favorite scam theory so far is that this is just a way for the Wus to buy some video production equipment and other "campaign expenses" that double as fun tech toys, using donated money.
But my problem with all scam theories is: the amount of money John's going to pull in will be negligible compared to if they just sat back and saved Frank's money. Why bother?

I think it's a mix of motives.

One third is pure greed. Political campaigns are a great way to rake in money, so I don't doubt they thought they could collect some money and keep it if this fell through. Considering their previous
money raking ventures, it wouldn't be out of character.

Another third is attention. Even if this self destructs, Wu wants to be in the limelight, and politicians tend to have a lot of it, and we all know Wu lusts for fame, and merely making the attempt will definitely get Wu some attention.

And the last third is delusion. On some level, Wu really expects this to work, and hubris will make foolish people believe they are invincible, even if reality keeps shattering their illusions time and again.
