I remember once asking a smaller YouTuber why they buy shit they clearly hate/support companies that hate, and they ranted about “Muh capitalism” and that they needed to make money to pay bills along with other faggy excuses, is it really that hard to not support companies you don’t like? It's admittedly in a tough spot. It's hard to see how it'll be as well received as Ultimate, there's ways to do it but not everybody is going to be happy. The only way to please everyone is to just make it bigger and better, which might work for one more game (add 15 characters and advertise it as having over 100 characters, pretty enticing).

after how hard it was to get sora, I do not see them being able to get everyone back again. and the only reason ultimate happened was smash wii u was a base to work off of. if you're gonna do a soft reboot then smash needs to skip a console gen or two like marvel did otherwise it's just gonna end up like marvel infinate or some shit

only thing they can do is add characters. This is hard on such a massive roster. Sakurai had said that the next game will not have that many characters so it will feel worse anyway

I will say that I think there is an aspect of reviewing that can only be qualified if you actually put your money down and say "is it really worth what I spent on this crap" compared to reviewers who get shit for free but those fags really don't give a shit aside from faking cancer and pissing in their basements

Counterpoint: replayable and sold for around 34.39 USD to this day, which isnt bad for a 2005 game. 32 tracks. 36 karts. An absolutely kino decal creator, draw whatever you like with the stylus. Can be played FREE locally, and uses download play if you dont have another copy. I'm keeping this and my DS till I die.

The number of people who openly admit that they can't or aren't willing to figure out emulation like it's some Herculean task is truly staggering. Like, it legitimately blows my mind how tech illiterate some people are.

Related story, I made a comment on a Twitter post complaining about the lack of modern console ports for the Trails in the Sky trilogy (this was before the remake was announced), pointing out that the Steam/GOG versions run on toasters, have full native controller support, and native support for modern resolutions, so there really isn't a need for console versions. Someone replied to me and unironically said that they needed Switch versions because they were "scared" of how complicated Steam is and how they get anxiety messing around with a settings menu on PC games. I was absolutely fucking floored. Granted, they had an anime profile pic and a bunch of furry shit in their bio, so they weren't all there mentally, but still.

I don't know, maybe I just take for granted the fact that I was given a Windows 95 workstation in 1996 at age 8 and told to have fun. I learned just about everything I possibly could about PC hardware and Windows by simply fucking around with them as a kid and a teenager. And I don't say that as some sort of brag either, the shit isn't rocket science.

Ain't no way they gotta skip a generation, let alone two, especially not with how long Switch 1's was. If Switch 2's is half as long (4 years), then it'd be 11 years between games, minimum.

Worst case scenario we wait 3 years for whatever they cook up, but I'd be surprised if we didn't get it in time for Christmas next year tbh, regardlesss of which direction they go in.
