Another event that slipped under the radar today was Judge Boasberg who held his contempt hearing about the gang-bangers who Trump deported.

Boasberg is pissed that Trump, in his opinion, failed to heed his order to turn around the planes the gang members were on and took steps to ensure the planes would be in the air before the hearing was completed.

TLDR: The judge is uber pissed when he found out Trump had everything lined up and the second the order was signed the TDA gang-bangers were placed onto the planes by ICE. He believes this was a direct attempt to under cut his authority and done solely to make the matter moot before his order could be communicated to the Trump team. So...he's throwing a hissy fit and now someone will pay. He is also angry about what the "Trump Media" is saying about him and his orders "I in no way indicated that these people were to be released in my order but that's all that the news is saying".

Boasberg goes onto say that "the Trump admin rushed to board and get the planes in the air when they found out I was in a hearing for the event, this was obviously a rush movement meant to avoid litigation and court scrutiny" and went on to say "at 5pm the government raced to put people on the planes and have them take off as a deliberate move to circumvent my order of 5:15pm"

He grilled the defence lawyer for almost an hour and was "100% unsatisfied" with his answers. "I will drill down to the facts and decide who I will hold in contempt for these actions" and "it's very sketchy that the DoJ refuses to provide the details I am requesting".

Anyway the hearing ended and Boasberg stated:

"I believe probable cause exists to initiate contempt proceedings against the Trump Administration for disobeying my oral order of 5:15pm. This matter is now taken under advisement"

ie: I am going to find a way to make this stick but it may take a while to see if my Democrat bosses want me to try to find Trump guilty of contempt so I will get back to you when I am told what to do.

I'm actually quite fond of the Hulkster. In other threads, you're a joy to engage with and have some damn good insights. You popping in the USPOL thread unprovoked feels like that old parable of "he who fights monsters," or "stare into the abyss long enough and it stares back." I also resent the notion of "thunderdome incels" because @StarkRavingMad is (at least historically), one of the best posters in the USPOL threads, and she's a productive member of society with a husband, children, and an unbreakable faith in a higher power. I haven't seen her post here for about a month though. It is a bit of a sausage party at the moment. Maybe it's because this thread accrues thousands of pages every month, and gets kinda heated from time to time. Maybe I should take a break from this thread and go back to skimming through the Lucas Werner highlights.

Don't bother with him. He's just mad his retirement 401k is paying out a hundred dollars less this month and he won't be able to get as much out of his reverse mortgage if the trend continues.
